For the offense is fine folks. They were 25-17 at one point scoring 5.35 while allowing 4.40 per game. Since then they're 29-42 scoring 4.24 per while allowing 4.41.

 

 

That also shows that the pitching has pretty much sucked all season.

For you guys that complain about Alonso and his play in left how about all the popups that drop right in front of Drew Stubbs that he either initially goes back on or just refuses to make an effort to catch. That one here in the inning could have cost Arroyo bigtime.

I was listening to Marty at the time and he says he doesn't remember one time that Stubbs has left his feet to make a catch.

You aren't trying to say there is any comparison defensively between Alonso and Stubbs are you?

 

On defense and the left field topic, Sappelt is looking good. If Alonso were in left, how many runs would the Cubs have today? I could see Sappelt being the answer in left field and batting lead off. Good defense. Good on base percentage. Something to consider for sure.

If there were ever an example of someone trying to do too much it is Masset.

My Masset hurts.

Every time Ondrusek comes in a game he can really Masset up.

The guy back there is the catcher. He's holding glove, try not to Masset so bad.

Good job by Stubbs taking those breaking pitches, because every time he swings at a breaking ball he will Masset.
