July 28, 201115 yr Does this sweep by the Mets establish the fact the Reds should be sellers this weekend? Who do you see the Reds could move if so?
July 29, 201115 yr Votto is a terrible fielder. He's made that blatantly clear this season. Oh but I said that he was the reason that Cozart got hurt and several on here blasted me for it. He is a good defensive fielder when he doesn't nonchalant ground balls by trying to backhand everything but he is terrible on throws to second and even to the pitcher covering.
July 29, 201115 yr Why a double switch? What the scenario? Dusty is the king of double switch. He doesn't know how to make just a simple change.

For the record, I only defended him on THAT play.
July 29, 201115 yr Votto's HR only masks the inadequate effort on Chapman's pick at 1st. Wasn't that a great effort by the MVP?
July 29, 201115 yr Votto has become a solid first baseman since he arrived in Cincy. However, he does tend to nonchalant balls and throws. He is prone to being spacey especially on the base paths. There does seem to be an air of complacency with this team this year. You just don't see that grinding every day. Doing the little things to put you in position to win games. Last year this team went first to third on base hits...just did the fundamental things you need to do to win and be consistent. They are not doing that this year. Seriously, did Drew Stubbs really think he could get the runner at third on that flyball? Both runners advance because of it. Frustrating to say the least.

It is more like they are all trying to do too much. Just put the bat on the ball. Throw to the right base. Throw strikes instead of picking at the corners. They are all pressing now.

Believe it or not I blame that on Dusty too. All year he's been non chelant about them being close and being fine and it's just a matter of time before they get hot. The players are just as much at fault, but it starts at the top.

Oh but wait they still have plenty of games left to turn this thing around and we like this team.
July 29, 201115 yr Jayson Stark reporting the Reds are seriously considering a "sell-a-thon".... Big difference than going after Pence and Bourn and a "sell-a-thon". I would prefer the sell-a-thon honestly. They aren't making the playoffs this year keep building young.
July 29, 201115 yr Since the All Star Break last year: Cueto 28 starts, 175 innings, 2.78 ERA but with a record of only 10-9.
