Last week we kept hearing that Boyle was the favorite and Highlands was the underdog but with over 90% of the members in the poll picking a Highlands win, does that make them the favorite in this game and Boyle the underdog? :idunno: or is this "Fuzzy Math"? :confused:

By looking at poll results, you can tell the Bluebird fans have visited. Even though this thread was only started ~3 hours ago, I fully expected to see several posts from the faithful in Ft Thomas. As an outside interested party would really like to read some insight on this great match up!

I respect the Boyle program but I think that Highlands has the edge this time but who knows the next time they play.

You very well could be right. Boyle has some question marks on the line and they'll be young, untested and playing against a very good FtH line, so, it could happen. I just think the intimidation factor that Highlands has over a good number of opponents won't play a role here. Boyle has carved its own niche over the past few years and has a ton of tradition and pride on its side. They will do everything in there power to keep that 30 game win streak alive and I feel they won't allow there fans to see a loss on there own home turf. I will say, if it's a blowout, it'll be Highlands that does it, but, if it's a hard fought, contested game, that Boyle will give that little extra at the end to pull them through.

Do you really think there is such a thing as an intimidation factor between two programs like these? I think that is one of the most overblown things in sports. I don't think teams of equal strength or close to it (at least in their own minds) ever get intimidated. I would be shocked to hear anyone from Boyle is intimidated by Highlands nor is anyone form Highlands intimidated by Boyle.

 

I will not be surprised to see Boyle have a tough first quarter versus Highlands and if they do, please don't come on here and say they were intimidated. Highlands plays a different game than most teams with their emphasis on speed even in their line play. If Boyle can whether the first quarter storm and get used to Highlands' speed game, then this should be a good battle.

I definately think that Highlands has a psychological edge over alot of there opponents because of its past success. I definately think they've gotten into the heads of a few quality teams from around the state(BGreen, John Central, Cov Cath) to name a few, who, for the most part, put similar talent on the field. I just don't think Boyle is one of those teams that'll let the name on there shirts give em an instant 2 TD advantage. Highlands is more than capable of winning this game and is, without a doubt, the heavy favorite. I just think Boyle is a dangerous team and a good matchup with Highlands.

My prediction......Highlands 42 Boyle Co. 24.............too much experience on the Bluebird side of the football....Boyle is too young and untested....catching Highlands at a bad time!!

I would assume that just as at HHS, those young, untested players got a fair amount of playing time last year. I expect a dogfight and hope that the HHS O-line comes in angry after last week.
