I'll admit that I have started some threads that were not too entertaining , silly, and some even called them meaningless , but this thread will defenitly be in the final four, if not , the grand prize winner !!!! ( Hang in there Clyde , real football is coming soon ! )

Yeah .... If you are from Ryle or a Ryle fan.

Trust me ... More than a few 100 people know what happened.

And if I am a certain team .... I am probably not going to do too much to make the other team angry.

Absolutely agree. Ryle would match up better against the Elder's and St. X's of the world. My guess however is that once Colerain gets up they will use this game to work on their passing game. This is traditionally not a strength of Colerain's offense. So unless Colerain has a better passing game than in years past, this might keep the game closer.

Don't remember alot of people believing that Highlands could beat Cincy X in '09. Just hoping that Ryles game against Colerain turns out much like the Highlands /X game. Kentucky on top.:thumb:

 

I would disagree. I think a lot of people thought Highlands could beat the Bombers, I just don't think they (we) thought that they would. On the other hand, I would say that the chance that Ryle could win against Colerain is virtually nil.

 

Ryle's objective in this one is to hang in and keep the game as close as possible. If they're on their A-game, I think they could keep it within 20, maybe even within 12 or so. If not, I agree with Clyde - 50 points isn't out of the question. I'd also have to agree with Robdigity: not a good match up for Ryle.

The only similarity is that , as you stated, no one (outside of Ft T) believed HHS would win.

To be fair to the Ryle team it's not an indication of how they will fare in NKY. It's simply that bad of a matchup and a testament to Colerain.

 

I've been on the "drubbing" end as a fan. I watched Elder take it easy on CCH in 2003. That was a state championship year for them and they could have won by 80 but called the dogs off at halftime.

You can't compare this Ryle team to that Highlands team. They have nowhere near the talent. Additionally, Colerain has two of the best linebackers in the country playing behind a traditionally strong DLine. If Ryle can't pass, they're dead. Ambitious schedule, and they definitely won't duck anyone, they are just over their heads this year.

What does anyone know about what Ryle has coming back, other than Elliott? Sure, at first glance most would say blowout. But what if Ryle can put a better team on the field than their '10 team. Does that change anything??

If the 2011 team is better than the 2010 version, then yes I think that changes things. I still think we would be talking margin of victory for Colerain, but perhaps not talking blowouts.
