Kentucky was well represented because Kyle Todd was also at the Elite 11. Pike and Lawler were back at OSU the next day for the Nike Football Training Camp.

Thanks for the info. Do you know who the other 3 QB's were? So in LA, there will be approximately 18-20 QB's competing for the Elite 11?

I understand Bir (one of the few underclassmen) from CCH was invited. Did not go because of basball tournament conflict. Can't be 2 places at once

There was around 150 to 200 invites to regionals. The underclassman however are at a disadvantage because the selected finalists are in the class of the upcoming year. I know last year Pike and Kiel were at the regional and both did great and were invited as the select few underclassman to be "ball boys" for last years elite 11. I think Bolin from lex cath could have that opportunity possibly.

I was a spectator of the elite 11 in Columbus and saw all the action. Towels had a good day and threw some okay balls, was inconsistent but showed upside. Pike on the other hand had an okay day had a little trouble getting in rhythm but that could have been cause ESPN was pullin him for interviews every other throw. Both threw well, but pikes under a different microscope and on a whole different level than towels. Being the third ranked QB in the country his every move is evaluated. In the end of the day I guess Pike being the one who is advancing to Los Angelos for the elite 11 finals would make him the more prestigious quaterback. Both had greata camps, buy two whole different levels.!

 

I understand that Patrick Towles has been officially invited and has accepted a spot to compete in the elite 11 finals in Los Angeles. Hopefully someone tells him before he goes out there that there may be cameras and reporters at this ESPN event.

First of all, let me say that I am not familiar with how this Elite 11 Camp works. I am assuming it's a competition, right? So, let me understand..........Pike is moving on to the Finals in LA? Is Towles or anyone else moving on to LA? What was the criteria? How did Pike get selected? Would appreciate more information on how this worked WM? Thanks.

The main reason IMO is for the kid to get more specialized instruction than 99.99% of the high schools can provide.

That would be even better. That kid gets it. He'll do great in front of reporters after the first couple of questions. I don't think that TV would affect him too much in his performance either.

So either 2 of the 11 kids at this camp will be from NKY or there's more than 11 at the Elite 11.
