  2. Congrats AJ. Enjoyed watching you play last year. Tough hard nosed runner
  3. G1...no harm, no foul. I thought it was kind of funny...the fact is Highlands has had everybody's number for a long time. That said, Bir has the tools to be one of the best RBs in the city. He has excelled at every level back to his Boone County Pee Wee FB days. No need for extra motivation, Cov Cath vs Highlands has been a great game for the past several years. I would expect the same this fall.
  4. Good coaches do use their talent. They have a huge OLine led by Sowers and Ross. I doubt they will be able to change their offense and you will see more of the same in 2013
  5. http://Http://www.nationalunderclassmen.com A friend of mine worked the combine...freezing rain, terrible conditions. He talked about the kid from Cov Cath. 4.59 shuttle, 4.78 40, 20 reps at 185 and 30" vertical
  6. Congrats goes to Luke for winning "King of the Combine" for the National Underclassmen Junior Class Combine held in March in Lexington. Impressive numbers for a 200 lb + RUnning Back
  7. What's the latest on Travis Elliott?? I would hate 2 see him out for the season! He is amazing!!
  8. The Dixie lot fills up fast. Where can you park and not get ticketed or towed????
  9. Here are the 2010 5A Passing Leaders TOP 15 PASSING LEADERS (playing a minimum of 8 games) (ranked by net yards passing average) Player School Gms Att Cmp Int Yds TD P-GM Zach Eastham Pulaski County 13 283 187 10 2826 39 217 Kyle Huff Perry Central 11 275 169 7 2389 29 217 Seth Carmichael Anderson County 13 287 196 11 2622 29 202 Blake Bir Covington Catholic 12 304 164 11 2285 22 190 Zeke Pike Dixie Heights 12 235 130 12 2144 17 179 Patrick Towles Highlands 15 239 122 11 2471 21 165 I would list Towles, Pike and Bir as my top 3 QB's in the area. Highchew as #4. Without any varsity experience, at this time, I would not add anyone else to the list.
  10. I understand Bir (one of the few underclassmen) from CCH was invited. Did not go because of basball tournament conflict. Can't be 2 places at once
  11. Also, contrary to what you may believe, the Colonels did NOT play over their heads at Highlands. Personally, I think they played as they usually do. They start off a bit too slow, then really get going in the 2nd half. Had we been awake on the first play of the game, the outcome would have been different. Don't fool yourself into thinking we had some heroic game..we didn't. We will be back.
  12. It certainly wouldn't be 60-0!! Also, enjoy the current Elliot ride while it lasts! Don't see anyone quite like him coming up, do you?
  13. Wow! Now you are someone who knows how to answer a question! That really clears things up! Now I won't have to ask again. Thanks for your time!
  14. I've asked this before, but why don't the "Birds" play some Ohio teams that are better competition? It is obvious that Highlands can annihilate any team in NKY, so why not go play Moeller, maybe Lasalle? CovCath does and gets their butts kicked, but it builds character. I don't understand what is so fun about beating every team by 50+ points. Where are the life lessons for the kids? Also, how does such a small area have so many amazing football players? Do you recruit players from outside your area? You do have great football teams! Congrats, and please try to not seriously hurt anyone!
