I like him and admire his determined and steadfast nature to defend SK. Of course some Highlands fans say we are similar so whatever. It is what it is.

 

I look forward to seeing Towles in action for the first time in week 0. May he continue to progress and continue to receive the recognition he appears destined for.

I was a spectator of the elite 11 in Columbus and saw all the action. Towels had a good day and threw some okay balls, was inconsistent but showed upside. Pike on the other hand had an okay day had a little trouble getting in rhythm but that could have been cause ESPN was pullin him for interviews every other throw. Both threw well, but pikes under a different microscope and on a whole different level than towels. Being the third ranked QB in the country his every move is evaluated. In the end of the day I guess Pike being the one who is advancing to Los Angelos for the elite 11 finals would make him the more prestigious quaterback. Both had greata camps, buy two whole different levels.!

Is Towles or anyone else moving on to LA? What was the criteria? How did Pike get selected? Would appreciate more information on how this worked WM? Thanks.

There is 6 loctations throughout the country in which these events are held. They are called regionals. From there 2-3 Qbs are selected to the finals in LA to compete for the Elite 11. Its more of a marketing technique for ESPN and Nike and its to give the best qurterbacks a week full of professional training and hollywood style events. Pike was 1 of the 4 selected from the cloumbus regional to go on to LA and take part in the elite 11. In a lot of ways i believe it is selected based on ranking and past events.

Just guessing on my part but I think the professional training speaks for itself. I would think that even the training the boys receive in the regionals is beneficial and goes a long way as does the training in the finals. The Hollywood Style Events is just part of the dog and pony show that elite and star athletes get from time to time which is ultimately a great experience as some who make the Elite 11 may be the highest moment in their life. Pure speculation on my part but seems logical to me. I think it'd be a pretty cool experience.
