History.... Regarding the final play of the Beechwood-Murray game... Players are taught that the play is over when the referee blows the whistle. The referee admitted that he blew the whistle prematurely. This caused Hergott to toss the ball in the air believing the game was over. Had the referee not blown the whistle, Hergott would have run out of the back of the end zone for a safety and a win. The referee did not wish to punish Hergott or Beechwood for his mistake. That is called integrity. What part of this is so hard for you to understand?

Murray did not have the lead or the ball when the game ended. If the tables were turned, I would not want to take the game away from the team with the lead and the ball over a referee's error. Trophies are nice, but getting it right is even nicer and the referee got it right when it would have been easier to signal a touchdown and run off the field and later deny that you had blown the whistle or the call. Rommel once said that he had too many enemies and one too many allies. Beechwood may have one too many fans.

Beechwood will be a force in NKY, as they are every year. They need to not focus on the Mayfields until the opportunity to play them presents itself. There is a lot of pride in this small school and I would never count them out once tournament time comes. Hope it's a successful season for all.

Well, SK is a 6A powerhouse and Beechwood is just a 1A school so you would hope SK will have no problem handling the little ol' Tigers. :sssh:

Maybe, but those 3 means play each other and return quite a bit. I put them as the best teams not named Highlands w Beechwood as my favorite

I love it. Gotta give those guys credit...every single non-district game is against teams from larger class sizes.

As Larry says, let's call it like it is, they're a good, solid 1a team, but, that's it. Numerous teams could beat them...

They will also beat CCH this year.....Should of had them last year. This years team will not give up a double digit lead....too experienced!!!
