So much of it today is about the camps. How many offers did Pike have before he even started a game at QB? And before anyone runs amok, I am not comparing Davis to Pike. I am using that as an example of how players today get recruited in camps as much if not more than they do in varsity football games. Perhaps that is what is going on with Davis.

...and you are right Govnah. D1 is rare and it starts with the pure numbers, size and speed. It is even more rare to see someone who doesn't have the size and speed go D1. If you don't have the size, you better have extra speed. But there are those even more rare exceptions that just have something else that gets them noticed and Vocke might fall into that category. I have no idea if he is getting any interest on the D1 level, but I wouldn't be shocked by it.

I hope so too! Like I said, seems like a great kid and his mother is a nice lady too. I wish the best for them.

 

I just think that he would take a beating in the Big East. There is no shame in playing in the smailler division and I do think there will be many from this team that could play at smaller schools if that is their wish.

Roman, I think Crunch was on the verge, I had no idea they had such a backup lst year and I am thankful that the kid and the coaches held him out against us. That title last year meant alot to Mayfield and had they not remained patient and brought out a D-1 qb I imagine we would have had a long and sad trip back west. I certainly feel that Beechwood is now the overwhelming favorite.

Last season's roster has him at 6' 1", 184 lbs.

I am not trying to be flip here but just pull out last year's program and you will pretty much see the starting lineup for this year. The QB will change. There will be a new starting center and a new starting OT but the replacements are varsity experienced. I don't think there will be any "rookies" starting on this team.

 

Who is the new center and OT? Any new RBs, TEs or receivers? What about on the defensive side?

Some of it still needs to be earned. There are several good experienced options to choose from. If I had to guess right now, I would say the center will be the big kid from Woodford County. Offensive tackle ... probably Greenweller. The only new faces would be if one of the sophomores work their way into some playing time. The only one I see that possibly happening with is Mitch Thomas maybe at DB.
