Shaun Alexander at Boone County HS

Featured Replies

Curtis Alexander is not listed on any of the career rushing records at Alabama. Dennis Riddle played from 94-97 overlapping Shaun 96 and 97. Riddle rushed for 2625 yards in his career at Alabama.

Curtis Alexander was the 1997 rushing leader for the Tide.

Stallings should have had SA in immediately. He was better than Riddle and C. Alexander IMO. I still remember that game against LSU his freshman season. Night game on ESPN, in Death Valley and he goes for 250 plus. I worked 3rd shift at the time and I dosed off after his first long TD. When I woke up I thought they were showing the replay but it was a live shot of his second monster TD.

Yea I guess he did ,I was refering to the poster that said he lead his team to two state titles.

I should have put a smiley next to my post, just being sarcastic.

Boone lost twice deep in the playoff's with Shaun. I believe once was in the championship and once was in the game before.

Shaun Alexander's such a down to earth guy. All I ever see him do is smile and laugh on TV and score touchdowns on the gridiron. What's not to like about him?

Shaun Alexander was not only the best football player in KY history but also the best athlete this state ever produced.

Ali has already been mentioned as the greatest athlete from KY. I agree.

But I would also put out there that Paul Hornung may have been the best football player from KY. Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame and perennial All-Pro on the great Green Bay teams that won Five NFL titles. Oh, and he's in the Hall of Fame I think. :thumb:

This just in. Alexander just took a dna test, and he's really the third Barber brother...

I was talking about career rushing leaders. He is not listed at all with the top rushers.

I've always wondered about that. ;)

You got that right, :thumb: I heard during the Seahawks bye week this year he showed up at Boone & talked with their players. He's a total class act. :ylsuper:

Gotta agree with everyone else. Cassius is the best ever.

Well - the reason I started this thread has come to fruition! I was interested in a 1994 Boone County HS yearbook for sale on eBay. I wasn't sure (not coming from KY, USA even) if Alexander would be in it. You guys were very helpful and I bought the book. It arrived in the mail today.

A quick flick through shows that Shaun also played Baseball (#10) and basketball (#30). He was also a 1st attendant at 1994 Prom Court with (I guess, his date) Jocelyn Sharp.

Thanks to all who helped! And it only cost me ten bucks!

54 touchdowns as a senior... holy cow
