Earlier posts on Shaun were correct about his time at Bama. He broke the record held by Bobby Humphrey 3,420. Our back Ken Darby if he has a good year next year could break Shaun's record. If Shaun could have gotten more carries in his first & second season its no telling what he could have done. He is famous for not doing well at his pratices. Coach Stallings would comment "he is our best back, but needs to work harder". Coach also didn't want to sit 2 seniors, so Shaun had to wait his turn. Hope he can break the record this weekend against the Packers and do y'all think he will play very much or will Coach Mike rest him & others?

The best all around athlete to ever come out of Kentucky was Don Gullet .

Simple as that...

All of the Boone players I have spoken to all recall the cheap shot on the punt return and feel like that that was a huge difference in the game you can't blow a call like that in the state game. That's another reason people don't like it played in Louisvilles back yard. Of course the fact they couldn't pass left Boone helpless. Shaun was keyed on by 2 great linebackers not just one. Brian Maney the fullback had a very solid day though didn't he.

Blown call? Yes. Cheap shot? No. While the linebacker play was great, the fact is the Rocks played goaline defense the entire game and Boone could not figure out a way to get the ball to a playmaker five yards across the LOS.

No its not a cheap shot to take a 30 yard head start and run full speed and hit a guy who is staring up in the air just waiting for a ball to come down so he has a chance to run it. Its a cheap shot or bad coaching. Everyone knows you can't hit a guy until he touches the ball. He should have been ejected for attempt to injure if you ask me. Boone ran the ball pretty well if I remember correctly. Brian Maney had alot of yards rushing Shaun didn't. Boone couldn't pass and didn't get any bounces or calls. I blame their passing game like I have for 10 years.

Not UK...Hal Mumme.

Correction, joker phillips via hal mumme made that point.

What cracks me up is if UK really didn't recruit this guy, didn't red flags up when every elite program was?

Shaun didn't care for the offense that UK was running. It was between Michigan and Bama and even though we had several backs already there. Shaun fell in love with the Bama tradition and so forth. He had a great visit. Also he didn't care for the cold weather that he would have up north. Just a thought came up. How many NC come from cold weather Universities? I'll post this for a new topic.

Watch the tape, the hit was off by a fraction of a second. It was so close the it wasn't called by the officials, that aren't from Jefferson County BTW. I admit it was early, but not with the malice you suggest.

That was no cheap shot, and I will be glad to go over it with you, etc....anytime....

Maney played very well..

It should have been a penalty, but if it is any consolation, the ball and the player hit at almost the same time.

That is the way I remember it. Those plays happen so fast that oftentimes refs miss those, even college or pro refs.

^ I'm glad somone does....Believe me, I saw the whole thing.
