Back to the game...could last night have been a preview of the 2012 9th Region championship?

 

Dixie returns Pike, Stansberry, Hassel, Hatton, Evans, and Cohorn.

 

Newcath returns Hightchew, Miller, Morse, Ryan, Beuter, and Schulte.

 

Could definetly see these two meeting again next year for the 9th region championship. More likely to see Dixie there though since Newcath will have to replace both Geisler and Doyle. Doyle's defense and rebounding is extremely underrated. He has impressed me the few times I've seen him this year and last night was no different. He got more than a handful of offensive rebounds and a couple big rebounds off missed ft's.

Wouldn't have missed this game for the world ,disappointed with the outcome of course, but both teams played out of their heads . One out of two isn't too shabby .Congrats to Dixie and Good luck at Rupp

I like Holmes chances of being there next year over NewCath....but you are correct, with what Dixie returns they should have plenty of fire power.

He's going to go down as the Larry Bird of talking in the 9th region.

 

I say that as a compliment and see zero problem with it. He does it the right way.

Understatement.

You gotta be kidding me, right? The kid pulls his jersey out a little and thumps his chest once.

 

For ANY fan to try and make a big deal about that is simply looking for something to bash the kid about. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he did. And considering some of the things the Newcath PARENTS and fans were yelling at the kid during the game, I would've probably done more than just "thump my chest."

 

Give the kid a break. Grown adults on here making a big deal about that is comical.

 

If we're going to talk about a kid's antics, I seen MUCH WORSE things occur in other games during this region tournament than a 15 yr old thumping his chest after a win.

 

There were TWO Newcath players that did several classless things during last nights' game that I won't mention for the simple fact that this isn't the place for it.

Rough day.

A little intimidation game early in the first as Hightchew and Pike brushed hard shoulders twice and the smiling and yapping began. Also when Pike fouled out I believe Hightchew walked with him to his bench and I don't think he was telling him he played a great game.

I may be late but does anyone know what the record for OTs are for a Ninth Regional Championship game? This was the best sporting event I have witnessed thus far. The boys and coaches from both teams have to be extremely proud of themselves with all the heart they was on the floor Sunday afternoon. It was just a wonderful experience win or lose.

It was not a well-played game. Exciting, yes. Well played, no.

That happens in championship games when kids are playing in front of 5000 people.

 

I thought things got a little scattered at times, but overall was a very entertaining game.

The game had it 's moments and did not lack for drama but poor shooting and play overall was sloppy. In a sense probably expected with so much on the line.

 

As far as the trash talking and some of the extracirricular activities it is a by product of the era we live in and has very little effect on the players or the game. This is their era and it's just part of the game they play.
