Not offended at all.

Letherneck, I don't doubt your knowledge on the subject. And, to be honest, I was just as surprised this past year when to local players transfered to an Ohio school for one week then transfered to an in state school and were ruled eligible. But, it did happen and we were told that it was a loophole that if a player transfered from out of state they would be ruled eligible. Both players played a varsity sport at Raceland, transfered to Ohio schools, then transfered to Greenup County and were immediately eligible without change of residence. That should be enough information for you to research it and confirm that it happened.

Interesting. I have to assume that the KHSAA wasn't aware that the kids played varsity sports at Raceland or that one of the exceptions was satisfied. Again, the By law as drafted does not permit such loophole and I'd caution any parent, player or coach not to rely on such loophole.

I wish Desean nothing but the best, as he really is a good kid from what I know of him....but he will have to work extremely hard in the classrom if he wants to be eligible next year.

Hopefully the switch to Dixie will help this young man as he has a god given atheltic abilitiy that can help him get his education paid for at the next level.

Desean now lives in district and has moved and enrolled at Dixie and is attending school and will be playing football this season! Put this thread to rest! KHSAA will rule him eligable and he will be playing for Dixie.

I hope you are right.

If he is eligible this gives Dixie a nice combo at WR. Peterson can stretch the field and Cohorn is a nice HS possession reciever. If their defense improves they could be the favorite in NKY 6A.

They had a nice combo last year and had a losing season.

Wouldn't be surprised at all. Cohorn and Pike with another year of experience and Peterson added to the mix. As you said, defense will need to improve.

They were 6-6 last year. Not that I'm splittin' hairs here.

Let it go. You don't even have last year's record correct.

I have been told that his grades were not very good at Holmes and how does this transfer help his academics. He is a great prospect and hope it all works out but part of the life lesson we learn in this sport is to play by the rules and if the move is for sports purposes then he may be ruled ineligible by the KHSAA. I know that he needs a bon a fide change of address most importantly, sounds like that happened but how are his siblings still going to Holmes? Does Holmes have a tution rule? Just wondering, I have done alot of research on the subject and know that you have to get a waiver from the association. Best of luck to this young man and his family

With all these bad grades comments, is it possible that his grades were juked at his previous school or schools to play? Is it possible that this may be a revelation by the state board?

Is it possible that they're just rumors and people don't know what the heck they're talking about?

I don't think there are any deep dark secrets on this one. Keep in mind that there are usually many inaccuracies posted when it comes to these eligiblity issues.

Not rumors. Fact

I know Peterson is with Pike, Cohorn and some other players playing a 7 on 7 tournament.
