Evan Daniels was on KSR during the first hour today. Matt Jones directed the same question at him that you did w/ GT, asking how he thought the UK class would round out based on what we know today. Daniels said he felt like it would be Goodwin, Willie Cauley, Alex Poythress & T.J. Warren. Said if that is how it came about, UK would have perhaps the #2 class. He seems to think Arizona or UCLA will ultimately be #1 overall, though Indiana actually has that slot right now.

 

In regards to Perry Ellis, Daniels said he would be "surprised" if he chose someone other than Kansas.

 

He said UK was in very tight with Shabazz Muhammad, but seemed to think he would be UCLA bound. He was also intrigued by Cal's visit with Gary Harris & stated that if UK was serious they would be an immediate "major player" with Harris.

 

Concerning Goodwin, Daniels said that if he were a UK fan he would be ecstatic. Said Goodwin is relentless at both ends of the floor and really knows how to get to the rim. Said Goodwin has a decent outside shot, but does need significant improvement in that area.

Poythress is down to UK, Memphis, Vandy, and UF.

I could easily see Poythress in the fold for UK.

FWIW..."AAU insider" Keith Easterwood was on the Gary Parrish show & when asked about Alex Poythress said he "is going to Kentucky."

Would be a nice filler for Perry Ellis. Cal wanted Ellis bad but I could see him trying to do a lot of the same stuff with Poythress.
