October 3, 201115 yr The feeling among many is that McGary is going to Michigan. He will not be visiting UK.
October 3, 201115 yr Was just getting ready to post that. I am among those who believe Michigan will be his destination.
October 3, 201115 yr Any chance Noel's reclassification has anything to do with McGary cancelling his UK visit?
October 3, 201115 yr Any chance Noel's reclassification has anything to do with McGary cancelling his UK visit? Doubt it. I think McGary canceling the visit has much to do with his love for Michigan.
October 3, 201115 yr Doubt it. I think McGary canceling the visit has much to do with his love for Michigan. And lack of love for Kentucky.
October 4, 201115 yr And lack of love for Kentucky. He says he is down to 4 and UK is not on the list.
October 4, 201115 yr He says he is down to 4 and UK is not on the list. At one point in time Kentucky was a thought, but don't think they were ever really more than just that. Would have really loved to have had McGary but I would definitely be okay with Coleman. The scary thing is this is the most top heavy big class in some time and with so many elite big men in the class Kentucky is close to striking out on all of them. Missed on Tarczewski, Ashley, and McGary, and never really were involved with Ridley, Austin, or Adams (fellow top 10 prospects). Ashley isn't a center prospect but def an elite big in the class and just an example of all the bigs that Kentucky is going to miss on, so its looking like Dajuan Coleman or bust (although the bust would likely be Willie Cauley and thats not bad but still not an elite big). Cauley would be a good get to have around for a few years and develop but in a class with so many big time Center prospects you would at least like to see Calipari land at least one of them. I realize they are still in there with Anthony Bennett but he is not a center prospect.

Calipari doesn't often strike out with so many targets, which leads me to believe that we might be sitting pretty with Noel. His reclassification could be huge for this recruiting class (if we land him), much like Drummond reclassifying for UConn this year.
October 4, 201115 yr Who is Noel most interested in? I've read UCONN & Duke. Is that right? Are there others?
October 4, 201115 yr Who is Noel most interested in? I've read UCONN & Duke. Is that right? Are there others? Not sure he's been real serious about the process yet, he does have a handful of teams he seems to be feeling more than the others but I'm not sure there is an actual favorite(s). Haven't gotten the feeling UK is in good of shape as some others but hopefully they can get there.
October 4, 201115 yr In regards to Warren, Jeff Goodman says UK backed off of him due to questions about attitude and that many schools have the same concern.
October 4, 201115 yr Gary Harris is visiting on 10.22. Big news. If Kentucky misses on Bazz a duo of Goodwin and Harris would be excellent to compensate at the 2 guard. Both could easily play at the same time in Cal's system, and more than likely be very effective together. Goodwin is attack, attack, attack, and Harris has more of an outside stroke. I could see a nice mix of scoring between the two, Harrow would be a great point for them and if Wiltjer is still around he would be the perfect big. Kentucky may end up with a monster class, it may not. Either way Calipari is setting himself up for a very solid class, one that could produce many talented players and perhaps a few that will be in the system for a couple of years. Although guys like Goodwin, Harris, Poythress, Coleman, Bennett, could be one and done but they would have to have big years and fill their games out a bunch. Very good chance that if some of these guys get to campus they may end up staying more than whats accustomed to since Cal has gotten here. If you could land recruits like that, then bring them back in with some high level 2013 guys then future is still very bright.
October 6, 201115 yr Nerlens Noel is not reclassifying. Will stay in 2013 class. Schools listed are UK, Florida, Syracuse, UCONN, West Virginia & Providence. http://www.zagsblog.com/2011/10/06/nerlens-noel-considering-reclassifying-to-2012/
