I left Madisonville OH at 2:15 today and it was sleeting and the roads really werent that bad. However when I reached Ft. Thomas 20 minutes later they were really bad and the snow started formulating into bigger flakes and sticking. I think Ft. Thomas probably did the right thing with going to school today as the heavy stuff really didnt start until 3pm but tomorrow may be another story. There is a lot of snow on the streets and its supposed to drop below zero windchill tonight freezing a lot of that stuff over.

We got 1 1/2 to 2 inches in Maysville still snowing till about 9-10,Didnt even start snowing to 2-230 really grass was green to then,But we had no school..:confused:

You must have had the only vehicle in the Greater Cincy area that didn't. No one I know, 4-wheel drive included, could go faster than 15-20 without sliding everywhere, if not less.

 

Sounds like a lot of non drivers went to cavalcade with no problem and then went to Turfway Park that night with no problem taking side roads cause the interstate was backed up.

Yea still an over blown snow storm 3-5 inches is nothing to worry about I just got back from the store roads where fine. Some cities get a foot of snow and have no problem the Tristate area always goes over board when it snows.

Roads in Richmond are pretty bad right now. Can't even see the lane lines on KY-52 toward Irvine

They shut down the AA and 27 for a while and I took some back roads and they were terrible. AA North was like a sheet of ice.

We had school here in Clark Co today. Didn't start snowing till just as school was out at 3:30. Fayette Co let school out 2 hours early today. Snowing here now and no school tomorrow in Clark.

I would like to acknowledge that I am one of those drivers who totally ticked people off today. I bought my car from my brother in November, and it has these really sporty wheels and high performance tires. I haven't had the ability to buy regular wheels and tires so, guess what....I was fishtailing and spinning all over the place! Yes, I never got out of 3rd gear or over 25 (I don't think). But I made it home in one piece, with my car intact, so to all the people who road my butt or passed me doing 40 or 50 down Broadway...

Big overblown nothing of a storm. Maybe an inch in Owsley County, and it didn't really stick on the road all that much. Here and gone in about 3 hours.

Three to five inches here, five inches measured by me. Roads are very bad.

This will be my last storm post. I started these threads to give people info to help them prepare for a possible emergency situation. Quite frankly, I think I've been wasting my time both on here and at work. Hopefully someone will not be caught unprepared for any future severe weather event.

 

To answer the question about next week. Forecast models are showing another storm brewing. Take what you will from that.

Just got in from shoveling a bunch of condo's with my dad and there's a good amount of snow here in Independence. It was funny though depending how the driveways faced and whether or not they were slanted the amount of snow on them ranged any where from about 3 inches to about 8. How the driveways were facing determined if the snow drifted on to them and if they were in the sun longer. I'd say we got about 4.5 to 5 inches here.

I certainly appreciate it... I love getting on Bailey's site myself, but its nice to be able to talk about it with others. I am looking forward to this next system on Mon-Wed. Just wanted to say thanks to NWO and keep up the good work!

We had 4 inches in Cynthiana, but I just looked out and it was snowing again at 3:30.
