January 20, 201115 yr I don't think it was over hyped, it just isn't sticking to the roads really. It looks like we got about 3 or 4 inches to me.
January 20, 201115 yr Looks like the firm stance on not calling school off was the right call in Ft. Thomas. Guess everyone else either tacks on another day in June, or starts considering lengthening the school days for the rest of the year.

To be fair it's much easier for Ft Thomas due to the small area and no school buses. They're still calling for an inch per hour this afternoon. Schools with big geographic areas have to be extra cautious. Imagine the screaming that would go on if a school bus slid off the road at 3:30 during the snow.

We usually chastise the school system for staying open in much worse conditions. Looks like it worked today.
January 20, 201115 yr Just had a co worker leave here in pill hill to head to Fort Thomas, says the roads are deceiving, very slick, everyone be safe out there.

Let me know how it is. Coming off this hills where I work are my biggest concern. They do a horrible job on them.

I think that is a part of it but also one of the bigger things to consider is that you have ALOT of juniors and seniors that drive to school, ALOT of them are also driving others to school with them. Those kids are inexperienced drivers and it's just not worth the risk.
