I don't think he's fast enough to return kicks in the SEC, I don't think he's big enough to play in the SEC. That's JMO, but playing on a ND team that is reloading is much different than playing week in and week out in the SEC. I'm not trying to knock the kid, but I don't think people should be up in arms that UK wasn't all over him either. He's a nice player no doubt, I just don't see him as someone UK cannot live without going forward.

 

Just for the record how many times did you see a coach fly in in his helicopter like coach Brooks did last year to watch AC play at Beechwood last year. So to say that UK wasnt all over is wrong like rb said AC wasnt all over them.

Not only UK, but Stanford wanted him and Oregon wanted him. Oregon was very interested but he didn't even take a visit. Not his kinda school. Austin knew what he wanted. He wanted a combination of academics first and football second. ND was the perfect fit. Close to home, academics , and a great football tradition. I couldn't see him anywhere else.

I believe the UK Junior day is on the 19th. I bet they offer him then and will make a big deal about it. If UK offers then I wouldn't consider it being late. I know Rob Smith got his UK offer faxed over at midnight the first day teams were able to officially offer.

Just learned that Towles picked up his 3rd offer from the University of Illinois. With Wisconsin and Penn State pursuing him, I'm not surprised.

The Collinsworth recruiting was held close to the vest. I believe Kentucky was in it, with many other schools, until Notre Dame offered late.
