Is it better to get an offer from a low seed SEC team or an offer from a high seed Big Ten team. A lot of teams will not offer if they think the player will go to a team that is much better.

 

Last year I heard some scouts talking about Austin Collinsworth . They said they would love to have him , but his talents were out of their league , so they did not waste their time offering .

Does he have an offer from a high level Big 10 team right now?

My post was referring to the idea as if Kentucky can't keep their in state talent in the state then how do they expect to compete? You have to be able to recruit in your own backyard before going elsewhere. Towles is just a current example that illustrates my opinion, other examples would be Collinsworth, Dawson (if they cant sign him), etc...

 

We don't know how well AC would do in the SEC. He looked good in the brief time I saw him at ND but I didn't see a star in the making either.

I am not sure what your definition of Star is, but Collinsworth had a fantastic Freshman season at ND. If by star, you mean someone who will play on Sundays, I would agree I think it would be a stretch to predict Collinsworth being drafted at this point. However, they love him at ND. The Coaches, the other players and the fans in general are very happy with young Mr. Collinsworth. He played on almost every special team as a Freshman. Only 2 other Freshmen played on as many special teams as he did. Only 3 or 4 other freshman played a bigger role the team over all, and most of those were because of injury.

 

I am not a Highlands fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I am an ND fan, and I can tell you I am very happy to have Collinsworth back for 3 more years!

I'm not trying to knock the kid, but I don't think people should be up in arms that UK wasn't all over him either. He's a nice player no doubt, I just don't see him as someone UK cannot live without going forward.

UK was all over him..He wasn't all over UK..AC is a very intelligent young man and wanted to go to a place where he would be challenged academically..

I guess Dickie Lyons was that much better than him? I think Collionsworth will be a good receiver and be just has good as Dickie Lyons.

I'm not a HHS fan or an ND fan. In fact, both of them are probably two of my least favorite teams. But I agree that Collinsworth had a fine first season at ND.
