Isn't the saying "you offer the kids you don't think you can get first" when it comes to recruiting? If UK wants him, I'm sure they will give him plenty of love.

 

Is it better to get an offer from a low seed SEC team or an offer from a high seed Big Ten team. A lot of teams will not offer if they think the player will go to a team that is much better.

 

Last year I heard some scouts talking about Austin Collinsworth . They said they would love to have him , but his talents were out of their league , so they did not waste their time offering .

What D1 schools did those scouts rep? MAC schools?

And people wonder why UK will never get to the level of play it has the potential to reach. Where are you Joker? I'm sure Mr. Towles would love a phone call.

Uk football still has a ways to go. They need a marquee coach period.

Almost all marquee coaches start as great recruiters. Both Strong and Jokers are great recruiters. Pat will have a lot more offers to choose from.l

My post was referring to the idea as if Kentucky can't keep their in state talent in the state then how do they expect to compete? You have to be able to recruit in your own backyard before going elsewhere. Towles is just a current example that illustrates my opinion, other examples would be Collinsworth, Dawson (if they cant sign him), etc...

Collinsworth is an academic minded kid. He had the likes of Stanford recruiting him. UK didn't stand a chance.

 

He was looking for a school that he could get a great education and get to play the sport he loved. He found that in Notre Dame.
