2010 Finals Attendance

No it wouldn't.

Care to elaborate? Now that EKU has turf, isn't it also about the same seating capacity as WKU? Is parking worse? Would be a tough haul for extreme Western KY teams, but WKU is a haul for NKY & extreme Eastern KY teams. Maybe Richmond and BG could get together and work out a rotation every year or ever 2 yrs. since no other logical choices exist (Louisville due to Big East conflicts and Lexington due to natural grass).

You said it would be A LOT better. Prove me wrong. Keep in mind that Richmond almost lost the All-A state basketball tournament over what they perceived as lack of support from Richmond, while Bowling Green embraces state tournaments and already has a great working relationship with the KHSAA. I'm thinking that is the biggest factor in why EKU will likely never host the state football finals as long as WKU wants it.

I have heard that one of the problems with Eastern is they don't have enough hotel rooms. There has to be enough rooms . Not that all rooms will be used but a quarantee that there are enough just in case they are needed.

I've been trying to find out which city has more but haven't had much luck online. That was my initial thought as well

Just doing a quick look up, and by no means is this perfect, but Bowling Green had 17 hotels where as Richmond listed 10

For the record, I didn't make the initial statement. Just looking for PROS & CONS for each location now that EKU has turf so the discussion can be had. I seem to recall that WKU was the only place that bid the last time it was up.

BG is perfect for everything but 6A ticket sales.

I like the finals in BG. I wish BGHS could claim one in their own backyard!

FYI the 6A finals attendance was not much smaller of a crowd than T/X in the third round. H brought nearly as many as X did 2 weeks even though it was 2 hrs away and 20 degrees colder!

I agree, Smith Stadium is the perfect stadium for KY HS football.

Missed you at the State game 35. It was a dandy!

I missed being there, too. But I heard our webcast, and that was pretty good.

While I love he games in BG and I hope they stay, this was the first year that I can remember that they cleared the stadium after each game. Maybe this helped the attendance figures as well.

I drove right in and had no issue finding a parking place. After the game, walked to the car and drove off without any problems, and this was the biggest attendance game of the weekend. I thought that WKU did a wonderful job hosting the State Finals. I for one hope it never moves anywhere else! :thumb:

Which makes it perfect (Did I say that out loud???)
