Brown sugar pie???? Never heard of it, but it sounds awesome! What all is in it?

I believe Bob Evans used to serve this pie but I don't think they do anymore.

Whatever my Thanksgiving Traditions are... not a one of them involves pushing around a cart at Target at 8 pm on Thanksgiving Day.

It's essentially a chess pie made with brown sugar instead of white sugar. Brown sugar, eggs, flour, butter, milk, etc...

I've never actually had one personally, but I've known some folks to bake them from time to time. If you ask me (and mcpapa), transparent pie beats out chess and presumably or brown sugar pie any day. I don't know many things better than a nice slice of transparent pie.

Kind of sounds like pecan pie...without the pecans.

(Which would be awesome, by the way.)

Very similar to Butterscotch Pie, at least the way my wife makes it. The recipe she uses is from my grandmother, who made them all the time when I was younger.

Similar to Butterscotch, but when prepared right, the difference is noticeable. Probably the richest tasting pie I have ever had.

She just said something about her Butterscotch Pie recipe calling for 3/4 cup of brown sugar & her Brown Sugar pie recipe calling for 2 cups of brown sugar.

Greatness! :) :) :)

One of the American Legion posts here in the county makes brown sugar pie during Lent to go with their fish fry. It's to die for to the point that I could only stand about three bites before my heart started racing.

Honestly, I've had carmel pies that were less viscous. A Coke seemed the only appropriate drink in accompaniment in the hopes its acid would dissolve some of the stuff on the way down.

On a sad note, I have been downgraded to Butterscotch this year. Subtle way to communicate that the love handles need to go.
