November 25, 201510 yr Got the lefse rolled out on Monday night. Not the best batch in the world -- potatoes came out wet, too much humidity in the air, possible iron malfunction... no idea really -- but it should still be decent. First Thanksgiving with a grandchild in the immediate family: my sister is coming to town with her six-week-old son. Can't wait to see him and be an uncle for the first time.
November 26, 201510 yr Just got finished with mine.....got on the roof with my blower and cleaned my gutters, "winterized" my deck furniture, & blew all the leaves off the deck for the final time. Thank God it was another beautiful Thanksgiving day for this task.
November 26, 201510 yr Colonels -- Make sure and try a Innis and Gunn White Oak Wheat beer .. one of the best wheats I've ever had . And I've had tons of wheats . This one is complex with Orange oils added and aged in oak barrels . A truly great beer .

November 26, 201510 yr As a kid it was over the (Ohio) River and through the (Southern Indiana) woods to grandma house we go. We would get up very early and drive to Central Indiana on Thanksgiving morning every year to have Thanksgiving with my Grandma and Grandpa and Aunts and Uncles. Since 1999 Thanksgiving has meant getting together with my wife's extended family...40-60 people consisting of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins get together for a huge meal around noon every year. We reserve the community building at a local church that has a kitchen and plenty of tables and chairs, every year and spend a few hours together. After that it is all football for me (and maybe a nap) and wife takes a long nap and may or may not go shopping later.
November 27, 201510 yr Got called into bartending duty today for the family. Made about a dozen tall-pour bloody marys for the bunch, and a couple pomegranate martinis (without all the correct ingredients). Not sure why I got blamed for getting everybody hammered.
November 27, 201510 yr Just picked up a box of rounds for squirrel hunting tomorrow morning with my brother. It's been two years since we've been able to go on Thanksgiving morning, but we're at it again this year. I'm excited!And Alice's Restaurant I assume. First Thanksgiving in a long time that I forgot to play it.
