On an unrelated note the winged visitor that stopped by to watch the game from the 20 made it off safely.

Trinity will be hurting if Ryan Steffey can't suit up. He is a senior receiver who not only makes clutch catches but is an on field leader.

I have to admit that I didn't miss Oxnard's comments. He makes snide, cheap shot comments about Trinity and then disapears if his Tigers lose. Who needs it.

"I don't think they're 35-7 better than us,” “But that's the way it is. You just go with that.”

An alternative, from Holy Cross coach, Mike Fletcher, whose team was up early and got mauled: "We had two really good efforts and some success early in the game. We moved the ball all night, but you can't make mistakes against a good team like that. They took advantage of every one of them." Praises and instructs his team appropriately, while giving credit to the better team that beat them, however painful that might be.

I admit....at halftime I was feeling that my misgivings about this game were correct...that this game could go either way. Once we got the two touchdowns to begin the second half, I 100% believed that Trinity would win. I just didn't think X could come back from a two TD deficit. Although the score was tied at the half, I felt the Rock D was stellar in the first half, with the exception of the first X drive. I did think X would score again in the 2nd half though. I never thought that we'd have a shut out, and I initially thought that the score would be a one TD margin. Not having seen X but only at the October 1 game, I figured that the X offense had improved greatly. I think that their defense progressed by great degrees throughout the season, but offensively, I didn't really see much improvement from the October game to this one, and I think that's what hurt them the most.

 

Hats off to the coaches to motivate the Rocks at halftime. Although tied, they didn't lose their poise, and I don't know why, but Travis Wright continues to amaze me with his patience, focus and lack of nerves.

Didn't the Tigers boast they had changed some things up after our first game? I am still trying to figure out what was different, all run and when they tried to pass, I've seen grade school teams pass the ball better. Glaser's comment in the CJ today "I don't think thye're 35-7 better than us" speaks volumes to the the mans ego. I hate to tell you Mike, they are 83 to 7 points better than you sir. Payback is hell and unfortunately for Tiger fans, you will only win one maybe every 5 or so years with ole Mike at the helm. Don't look for it to happen soon as the Rocks just continue to reload!

We'll see everyone Thanksgiving Day morning at practice. BTW, does the team still have "Senior Corner" at the end of practices? I always thought that was an excellent leadership and bonding tool.

I think Mike's comments were more directed to or for the benefit of the team, in particular the Seniors, who had just lost and played their last game. Having said that, I agree that he should have been complimentary towards the team that had just soundly defeated his team.

I'm sorry I don't believe that. Glaser will never give Trinity 1 iota of credit for anything and this was yet another jab in that direction. If he wants to soothe his senior's egos then it should have been done in private.
