He was in for at least one play as the extra blocker on Towles' 5 yd TD run in the 4th quarter. Didn't see him on defense but did see Nienaber on defense on that last ill-fated drive by JC. Great job stepping up #53 playing some snaps on Defense!

Yes..

Sully was on Goal line offense last night and that's it. He has been dealing with some illness all week from what I have been told.

Will Highlands be completely healthy next week?

I've been saying for a while that the Birds are going to get better the further they advance for the simple fact that it gives some kids who have been hurt more time to rest and get back in action.

Watusi and Jude very good posts. Hats off to a fine JC ballclub that put forth a great challenge for the Birds. Great job by the Birds tonight, specifically the defense in containing the JC offense to small chunks of yardage all night. Keep your eye on the goal. Go BIRDS 20n10.

Thank goodness. Would not want to have to face him again. I heard he played one heck of the game and just really a hard player. Wish all the best for him . Does he have any looks to go onto play in college?

Few post away, just wanted to clarify I forgot the quote. I'm talking about Bratton.

Someone please tell me that #42 for JC is a senior and the Birds will not have to see him again next year! Just a stud on both sides of the ball. And JJ Jude can definitely play some D as well!

And here in lies the difference again in a close game. Way too many guys for JC going both ways. Not JC's fault just a fact.

What a great and disciplined JC football team. Kudos to the way their guys handled a tough, tough loss.

Also, hats off to the JC camp in total. The ignorance and pettiness of some disgruntled posters on here labeling the JC folks as having it out for Highlands. NOT TRUE at all, total opposite

It was as if someone called down to JC and had a talk with the man in charge and the Blue carpet was essentially rolled out for Ft Thomas when we pulled up until we pulled away.

Heck, I was even asked by the HHS radio guys to make sure and publicly thank the JC guys in the booth for being "nothing but great" and hospitable. They even said when talking to the JC radio and administration folks that they were "less than Happy" with the way some folks from the week before "put words in their mouths" portraying JC as "having it out for Highlands" , Thats just not right imo. Go Birds 20n10

Congrats to the Birds!! The defense was outstanding..JC has 2 of the biggest rb's I have seen at the high school level. WOW!! Matney wasted way to many timeouts during the game. He really shot himself in the foot.. HHS needs to find a way to get McCoy in the backfield. He is to good of an athlete to be holding a clip board. The Birds have no running game besides Towles. They need that break away threat that they are missing...I also hope at some point in my life Dale will work on an intermediate passing game. GEEZ!!! If they would of done this tonight the game wouldn't have even been close.. GO BIRDS!! 20n12!!

Nice Post ! Your team has the utmost respect of many folks in NKY. Tell the JC boys to keep working hard in the weight room and earn that shot at visiting the Fort next season.

Is there a fort in Park Hills? :idunno:

Agree and disagree on some. Agree on D and Matney wasting. The wasting imo is the talent and ability of the athletes that he is holding back with such a simple one dimensional offense.

As far as McCoy goes, he will get his touches in due time. I disagree with intermediate passing game. I thought Highlands did a much better job of throwing it short last nite when needed. Towles put em on the money last nite with almost all caught and few not. The long passing game was there as I think Jude earlier posted. Two different times HHS guys pulled up and Towles ball was well over their head but on target. Not sure what happened their but they will work this out this week. Highlands will be fine RBird, and remember We dont share everything on this site, OR ELSE!!!!!!! Go Birds 20n10 not 12. come on man!!!!!

I agree! When its 3rd and 8 why do they have to throw it 40 yards. Sprint 12 to13 yards straight at the Db and turn around..its that simple. The DBs for JC were turning and running soon as the ball was snapped.

Watching the game now...Bratton had one heck of a first drive. He was getting 4 and 5 a pop on every carry.

And then..........................

I think they turned it over on downs on like the 14-15 yard line.....Sorry, couldn't resist!!!

And then..........................

Obviously Highlands' coaches made the proper adjustments to stop that. One of the many reasons why Highlands is so good year in and year out. Great coaching.
