Personally HHS is lower on my list than the Russians, Darth Vader and the Taliban, but sportsmanship is sportsmanship. I can't see Coach Wirth turning down a request for film. Plus I'd wager a fair amount that some enterprising Birds fan was able to rip the game from the stream.

In 08 and 09 Dale really called off the dogs in the Cov. Cath. game. In 08 the score was 54-0 at half. Cov. Cath's D only forced a handful of 3rd down plays in the 1st half. I do not recall a Bluebird 1st half punt. Highlands' starters were pulled very early in the 2nd half. Highlands could have put up a hundred. I think the game ended at 61-0. Dale extended sportsmanship as well in the 09 game which was also a blowout. I enjoy razzing the Birds as much as anyone (it's kind of like hating the Yankees) but I would share the game film for courtesies extended in 08 and 09, if for no other reason.

I'm don't believe they wore down the CCH D. Heck, Jude was just too good. How can the D get worn down when a)JC didn't have many long drives and b)CCH offense was on the field a lot which means the D was resting?

 

The o-line of JC did a great job of creating gap and Jude exploded through it.

 

After watching the game on Ihigh, I have to agree with you. CC did not wear down, but just got gashed for long running plays through out the game.

Game etiquette is to trade the last two games with your opponent, so it doesn't matter if CovCath gives it to HHS or if they see it on ihigh. It is up to JC and HHS to trade with each other.

The CCH folks that have been around for a while just can't figure out what has happened defensively over the last 4 seasons. You go back to 04,05, and 06 and the defense was strong. Heck, Highlands won the state championship that year and only scored 27 combined in 2 games(of course we scored zero but I digress). With the exception of a few games the 06 team shut teams down as well on their way to the title.

Over the last 4 seasons CCH has had their opponent score 30 or more points 24 times. You can't win that way. It's not like the past teams were filled with D1 defenders. Who is the last D1 defensive player besides Mike Mitchell to play at CCH?

Let me clarify one thing. My point about no D1 players was not aimed at the last four years. I'm saying CCH has had great success in the past as a defensive unit WITHOUT aid of D1 players.

I've said hundreds of times that I have no clue how much is scheme and how much is execution. No clue. I'm just saying that it's not the same as it has been in the past.
