November 13, 201015 yr I guess nobody cares about the Cats since Kanter is ineligible. I thought the Cats looked pretty good tonight, but then again most teams do when they shoot 13-26 from 3 point range. All in all a good start for Cats.
November 13, 201015 yr Freshman domination. Jones, Lamb, and Knight look good in debuts. Miller is still one of the more perplexing players in UK history.
November 13, 201015 yr I have learned to not expect anything from Miller because when you do usually the opposite happens. Good showing for the Cats though.
November 13, 201015 yr As UK is full of freshmen, who is gonna be the leader for this team? Last year it was Wall and I just wonder who you guys see as your team leader.
November 13, 201015 yr As UK is full of freshmen, who is gonna be the leader for this team? Last year it was Wall and I just wonder who you guys see as your team leader. His name is Brandon Knight. Edited November 13, 201015 yr by jvdfc Typo
November 13, 201015 yr As UK is full of freshmen, who is gonna be the leader for this team? Last year it was Wall and I just wonder who you guys see as your team leader. Knight and Jones are the most logical choices. I can also see Liggins playing a big leadership role. UK has a lot of problems that will soon be exposed. 0 post presence. I was most impressed with UK's ball movement and ball security. Two areas they stunk in last season.

November 13, 201015 yr They will be fun to watch. UK had some fantastic shooting games last year, but they really weren't good shooters. I have a feeling these guys can shoot. When they're on they'll be tough to beat. When they're missing a lot of teams can beat them because they are so weak inside. All the Tubby bashers should at least enjoy the tempo they'll play with this year.
November 13, 201015 yr UK's lack of post presence will really have the Cats against the wall in some games, but if Jones can keep rebounding as good as he did last night it will certainly help ease the blow...
November 13, 201015 yr 10 turnovers was the most notable stat in my opinion. This team seems to pass and execute very well on the offensive end.
November 13, 201015 yr Was in attendance for this one & I was apprehensive--just hoping we would win. It was about as impressive an opening victory that I've seen in a while. While there were a couple of obvious negatives (see: FT shooting & defensive lapses), the positives far outweighed. The three freshmen were outstanding. Knight set the pace early, and was joined quickly by Lamb. Jones was an absolute animal, particularly at the start of the second half when he scored UK's first dozen or so points. The guy not getting the ink he deserves is Deandre Liggins. Quietly, Deandre made the right pass, drove at the right time, filled the right lane, gave the extra effort, and pretty much did what we hope he'll do all year. Liggins' defense was most impressive. So glad to see the turnaround he's made since arriving here, and also since spending time in Cal's doghouse last year. If Liggins can maintain this kind of effort, he has potential to make an NBA roster someday. It's just one win, and the first one at that, but the team looked very good tonight.
November 13, 201015 yr A game where Harrellson could step up and show he deserves to play and he stunk it up.
November 13, 201015 yr As UK is full of freshmen, who is gonna be the leader for this team? Last year it was Wall and I just wonder who you guys see as your team leader. Deandre Liggins. Though he started his career off kind of slow, I feel the guy has about as much heart as any UK player the last few years, maybe since Chuck Hayes.
November 13, 201015 yr Freshman domination. Jones, Lamb, and Knight look good in debuts. Miller is still one of the more perplexing players in UK history. Jones is a bad, bad man. I can't wait to see if he can do this against some really good competition. Knight is smooth and heady and can fill up the stat sheet, Lamb gets better every time he gets on the floor. Miller has been kind of disappointing, I really thought he might take off this season. There's still time though.
