So so sad. Prayers are out.

No dollar amount on anyone's life but his family owns a small portion of ND now. Terrible story.

My guess is criminal charges come out of this and they should.

Very sad and totally preventable.

OSHA says the maximum wind speed for the scissors lift is 25mph. Somebody should and probably will be held accountable for letting this kid go up on that lift.

ND and coach Kelly didn't even have the decency to quit practicing after the tragedy? This story is tragic and sickening at the same time.

Just saw where the boy who died had tweeted from the lift that he was terrified. This was approximately one hour before he died. Was he feeling pressure to stay atop the lift? Not sure, but if he was terrified, I certainly wish he would have brought it down. Sad, sad story. Can't imagine what his parents and family are feeling today. Prayers go out in abundance.

That is shocking.

Heard Mo Egger say that they would be discussing on his show whether or not Coach Kelly should be held accountable and fired for his negligance...

50 MPH winds and they've got a kid up in the air taping? Sad, sad, sad and adults who were there should have known better.

This is a tragedy and my heart goes out to his family and friends and I’m sure due to the high profile of this accident there will be an in depth investigation. But, this was a 20 year old man, he is an adult and nobody knows if he was told to go up and videotape or if he did so on his own free will. Anything other than that is pure speculation.

I hope you have a very good source to back up your statement. If not, you are doing nothing but poisoning this very sad situation even worse.

I just saw where a spokesman from ND said that practice was indeed stopped after the accident. I agree with you TB, certainly don't need these false rumors to worsen the situation.

This is very sad to say the least, but I thought I read somewhere that he tweeted that "today should be very interesting at work" before he even went up in the lift. I could be very wrong but if it was me, the lift wouldn't have left the ground. IMO!!! I really don't care what type of job it is....

Trust me, I have been in the Industrial Moving Business for 20 plus years and I have been in very similar situations where safety has been of concerned. There is a right way and wrong way....My prayers go out to the family and friends and especially the people that had to watch and deal with this terrible tragedy yesterday in South Bend...

The AD said they went back on the filed for 25 minutes and I've read multiple articles saying practice didn't end right away, but thanks for the concern. I'll admit not being there and knowing the exact timeline though.
