If they prevent the big play, then yes. Like I mentioned earlier, Lex Cath did not have many sustained drives; however, they didn't really need to either.

 

If they can keep Burke in the pocket, then I think they can contain him. I hope for HHS' sake that they can tackle better than CCH did last night.

 

 

I think it is very hard to expect a high school kid facing a superior athlete to make that tackle one on one in the open field; that is the position CCH's defenders were put in ALL NIGHT LONG!!!

 

I think the kids did all they could; you know they were giving it 110% to make the play!!!!

I think that is extremely, extremely unfair; it certainly indicts the players and coaches of LC and takes away from the performance of the teams that defeated them.

 

I think they have lost to some good football teams over the years.

 

Haven't they lost to a lot of eventual state champs/runner-ups in the playoffs?

I haven't seen the stats for the FC-Highlands game but am willing to bet the stats were closer than the final score. FC moved the ball all over the field against LexCath but struggled in the redzone. Was this the case in the Highlands FC game? LexCath usually scores if they get the ball to the redzone.

I think the HHS attack on offense will be the best way to contain the Knight. Look for Kramer to carry the ball a ton.

If Highlands can run the ball against the Colonels, which they did, they can run it against the Knights. As a matter of fact, I think the Birds smaller athletic linemen match up well with the speed of LC on defense.

If past years are an indicator, it is better to run directly at Highlands rather than try to go wide. Is that the case this year? As for defending LexCath, you probably are better off playing straight up instead of trying to pressure Burke as CovCath did, hence the many big plays. LexCath has never been good at being patient in years past and also present.

I think it's chose your poision with the Lex Cath offense. Highlands has great team speed. This could be a state championship game as good as these two clubs are. It dosen't get much tougher than Highlands at home. They are the champs until somebody nocks them off! It should be interesting;)

Controlled pass rush would be the key. When the HHS pass rushers didn't stay in their lanes, they lost contain and that's when Franklin Co.'s shifty QB had time and the HHS secondary didn't stay with talented receivers.

They do match up well but CCH's power running game is better against the undersized LexCath defense and in turn LexCath's six million dollar speed matches up better against the Birds East/West Allstar Jet Series. That is not to say the Birds can't run right at LexCath because I think they can, I just don't think running wide is the best offense for the Birds this week.
