Has anyone noticed the lack of responses of N Ky football fans. Is this due to the lack of games on the radio or is this a commentary on the broadcasters? -

Oldbird. I have been reading the pre and post game threads involving Highlands, Newport, etc., and they miss the wit and knowledge of Oldbird. I feel fortunate to still see him on occasion, but would like to read his thoughts and analysis of the playoff. Birdsfan is doing a nice job of carrying the torch, but it would be nice to have OB back. Oldbird, I know your reading--come back and join the fun.

Help me to understand this statement. I am under the impression that Danville is an independent city school district, like HHS and Newport. Does this mean that Boyle County High School is located in the city of Danville but not within the independent district boundaries?

Who would Lexington Catholic/Highlands rather play?

If the HHS fans were offended by the actions of the FC student section last week, get ready for round two this week. I was never so disappointed in a student cheering section as I was at Lex Cath's group at the state soccer finals. They were rude and vulgar. The "cheers" were nothing more than a collection of curse words. I kept looking for someone, a parent or administrator, to come and settle the group down, it never happened. If you have kids I would suggest to get there early and sit toward the Middl School side of the stadium. -

I'm guessing you were not at the game. I was impressed with siome of the things Franklin was able to do. The problem was the way Franklin calls plays at the line and has ahurry-up offense allows for too many possessions for the opponent. HHS is too good not to score a lot of points if the game clock never runs. When Franklin was unable to put points the board, the margin just grew and grew. -
I would be surprised if AAAA Boone Co AAA Hopkinsnville AA Newport or A Metcalfe Co advanced to the semi finals.,

Will Highlands hold LexCath under 40?
stinkyboy replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
HHS must get a pass rush. When Franklin Co was able to protect the passer, big plays occurred. Constant pressure and some sacks are very important to holding the Lexcath point total under 40. o -

I think the biggest decisions in this situation are still to be made. The "procedural" overturning of the injunction just opens this up to a hearing for a temporary injunctions later in the week. Possibility #1 - no further court action, HHS forfeits all previous games, plays without Mitchell in the finals and has a chance at being state champion. Possibility #2 - go to circuit court again later this week, win the injunction, play game without Mitchell and then there is no chance that a state championship could be later stripped from HHS. If COA overturns the injunction record would be 1-14 but HHS still state champions. If no overturn record (14-1) would remain intact and result of state game would still stand. Possibility #3 - go to court and get injunction. Mitchell plays in game. If HHS wins and COA overturns the injunction-HHS forfeits state win. Any other possibilities.

I am by no means a lawyer, but a procedural ruling to me would throw this thing right back into local circuit court. I would be very surprised if there is not another hearing later this week for a permanent or another temporary injunction. It would probably be granted again and Mitchell would then be allowed to play. Now the decision would need to be made by the staff to play Mitchell or not. If HHS would win with Mitchell and later again lose in the COA, the Birds would be stripped of the title. Any of this sound reasonable
