8th grade Ockerman and Gray both got beat up by Lex Cath. Ockerman's stand-out Stanley has a serious injury, didn't play. 7th grade Gray boys went 2 - 0 (vs Lex Cath, then Woodland.) They have 2 BIG guys plus some other good kids. They are a team to watch.

I know one of the big guys is Thad Moss..

8th grade tourney only as in years past. Just lucky enough to have an 8th grader and dumb enough to step up and be one of those in charge of running this thing.

I had fun running it a couple years ago, it was a nice moneymaker for the 8th grade Wash Dc trip. But yes, coordinating the workers and making sure the concessions are stocked is a pain.

Anyone know if Holmes has played yet or when they play?

What is the nature of Stanley's injury? How serious? Ockerman will need him to be successful. Without him, they will be lucky to go .500.

JaQualis Matlock dunks during practice and warm ups at Hoptown pretty much daily. He's a legitimate 8th grader.

Hopefully, it's not season ending. Does LexCath have a middle school or junior high?

Lex Cath has a middle school. The 8th grade is very big and very good. Don't know about Stanley, but heard it is possibly season ending. Hopefully not.

I cant find Lexington Catholic Middle School on a google search, where is there home gym?

I'm assuming it was either Palmer or Covington.

Do you know when they play again? Thanks in advance.

It was Palmer..They played against St. Catherine the other night. I am pretty sure they won rather easily. I left early..

Lexington Catholic does NOT have a Middle School. They conduct tryouts with their 15 feeder parochial schools and choose the best. 4 of the schools are in Lexington and the other 11 are scattered throughout Central Kentucky.

PM me when they play Highlands. Would really like to see some of the younger guys in Holmes' system.
