Bengals 20 Panthers 7

Featured Replies

Some of us have been saying this for a while about Palmer but there are a ton of Palmer apologist out there. He is an average QB. 20 games now and our passing game is still now there.

Carson is the weak link on this team. The quarterback needs to be the leader and he's no leader.

Guys, guys, guys.....................Carson Palmer is on a pedestal with the great football Gods in the heavens of NFL History. Bill Walsh would have cut Montana and Young to have the strong-armed, Herculean Caron Palmer on his team. Johnny Unitas would have benched himself had he played on the same team as Carson Palmer. The misfortunes the Bengals have had over the years are not Palmers fault, he's been great in spite of his pathetic excuse for teammates. Two Pro Bowl WRs, a few Pro Bowl RBs, and a top 10 defense are not the kind of teammates a great QB like Palmer should have been blessed with. Sure, Tom Brady has Super Bowls, but he had studs such as Deion Branch and Troy Brown to throw to.

It's all Kimo's fault.

Palmer isn't terrible... although I called him that a few times today. I hope he gets better, he's just not elite like some people thought he was. He should be good enough to give the Bengals a chance to win though, that's the hope.

Make no mistake -- he was indeed elite, and had the ability to strike fear in opposing defenses. Just not anymore.

The injury changed him for good. I'm not knocking him. It would have changed many. That said, it's a business and it's time to find the next QB and move on.

Give his brother a shot.

I'd rather give me a shot...

Injuries..... Not like Brady or Brees ever had a big one of those either. Sounds like an excuse. Carson didn't forget how to play guys, he's still the same guy he was. Chad and TJ were young and could make up for alot of things................................

Just because others recovered from an injury it doesn't change the fact that Palmer has had multiple major injuries. He's not as good as he was in 05-06. They do however win when he plays. You act like people call him elite currently. Nobody on here does that.

I know you can be a little over dramatic playing to the "Palmer is a top flight QB crowd", but that is funny right there.

Any win is a good win. However just like what everyone else said, Palmer has to start playing better. This whole offense as a whole needs to, and it does start at the QB though. It looks like he is trying to hard now to make like perfect passes, and ends up not being a good pass at all.

All that matters though is that the Bengals are 2 and 1 and in good shape. I am not going to push the panic button about this offense after just three games. We have a bunch of young guys on the offense, and only one receiver including TE's did Palmer throw to last year and that was Chad. They have two more games left and then the bye week. I think we will see the offense doing much better after the bye week, and if they still are not. Then I will push the panic button about this offense.

Gresham's play has been very encouraging. The same with Jordan Shipley.

I am definitely happy with the performance that we've seen from the two rookies thus far. I was thrilled when the Bengals drafted Shipley, Gresham has been a pleasant suprise to me. I wasn't exactly sure what we'd get out of him.

I believe me and FC have a avatar bet hinging on the fact that Carson Palmer is still elite, and everyone would know/admit it by the end of the season. There is still a long way to go on that one, but CP is going to have to learn how to manage the clock and throw in the general catchable area of his intended WRs at some point this season. The way it stands right now, I bet Peyton Manning is sweating, fearing that this is the off-season the Colts will cut their ties to him and go and get a real QB in Caron Palmer. Andy Reid is going to play QB musical chairs with Vick and Kolb until both have the mindsets of abused kittens and are no longer servicable QBs so he will have a reason to go and save Carson Palmer from his horrible Bengal teammates that let him down time after time.

I love being over the top about Carson Palmer. Nothing gets a CP-backer more fired up, and CP-backers are the best fans to mess with. :thumb:
