This is a program that benefits from open enrollment in the Cty. They have plenty of athletes to make this game competitive which I expect. Will it happen, we will see. But I do agree with everyone saying that you can't play your QB both ways without the chance of him tiring a bit. I think the Birds have too much again this year. Go Birds!!! 20n10!!!

 

Man, lets get off the "open enrollment" thing. You could probably count on one hand the number of kids that play football at Dixie that have switched Kenton County Schools. And I don't know of any that pay tuition to attend and play from another county. I don't want to open that Pandora box. It's been hashed out in these threads for years.

 

I'd like to see Dixie give Highlands a game......don't know if that will happen. My son used to tell me that part of the problem playing the Birds was mental. He agreed that HHS had a better team but he also admitted some guys just got psyched out about it.

Highlands will put up the same number of points vs. Dixie whether Pike plays D or not. If I was Mr. Spritzky, I would go with Zeke on offense only and run him a lot to try to control the ball and reduce the Birds' time with the ball. That is the only chance to keep it close. I would guess the Birds win by 4 TDs.

The score will be similar to last weeks game vs. Eastern. Running clock in the second half, I wouldnt be surprised to see Spritzky hold Pike off the Defensive side of the football in this game. It wont matter though in my opinion.

I hear the kid was a phenomenal running back as a freshman at Dixie. I know there are some that think he's better than what they currently have. Anyone know?

The Highlands coaching staff felt the team would be best served by Drake playing cornerback and as you know, we don't play kids both ways. I think it's that simple. I doubt Drake feels he was "snubbed" by not playing running back from what I know of the young man, but if he does, he came to the wrong program. It's team first.

Probably for the same reason that Collinsworth played running back last yr and not wide rec or even DB. You pretty much dont tell Dale what you want to do at Highlands, you are not even told what to do at Highlands, you are talked to and when you leave the meeting you walk away with why you play for Highlands. I for one do think that the Bruns brothers will be a big, big difference in this game. Devon, as stated earlier will dominate from his down position and Drake will simple continue to pick daisies. I think if Dixie does throw it 40 times they might need some help. Absolute head hunters in Bruns, Abner, Seidl and Lofland for the Birds. Go Birds 20n10

Could this be the last time (at least for a while) that these two teams play? If the projected alignment for 2011 and beyond is accurate, then HHS will not be playing Dixie as part of a District match-up, and one would have to question the value of having them on the schedule earlier in the season. Or, would Dixie even want to play Highlands when they don't have to?
