Turned in a paper of someone else, just put his name on it, the professor came up to a student and asked where his paper was? Cam got caught, and what HT said is true, and like someone mentioned the Heisman folks are gonna be really careful this time, so it doesn't look good for him.

 

But, to be fair, this happened at Florida, does it have to stay with him? I don't think so, it should be what he has done this season, and shouldn't have to carry his Sin his whole life, Man I hate it when I'm fair with Auburn people. :idunno:

 

You know, after thinking about it today...if he is eligible to play at Auburn then it should be ok to vote for him. Tough situation. Also, I didn't know that about the hearing in the spring. Still, let's not act like Urban would've kicked him off the team. He isn't a very strong disciplinarian. Now, i think it looks bad on Auburn for taking him. No win situation.

Retroactively this makes Urban look bad. Not only did he supposedly set off the snitching on Newton for the money incident, but his grades were released. On top of that we all know if he would have stayed at UF Urban would have kept him on the team.

 

As for Newton I hate to say it but he looks really guilty. He can't even deny this stuff, or at least seem sad about it rather than smiling? Maybe he'll be honest with everything after the season? Would people look at him differently than other cheaters like Reggie Bush if he did that? I don't know if they would or could.

It's Newton until he is ruled ineligible.

I believe Kellen Moore will be a better pro than Cam Newton. I will take my blasting for omitting Newton's rushing stats, should have been included, my mistake. Moore still gets my Heisman vote. Should we start giving the Heisman out based on schedule strength? Other than 1960, when Roger Staubach won the Heisman, I believe it's gone to a BCS conference every year. There may have been one or two exceptions in there, but not many. I just think Kellen Moore is a winner, and I would be willing to bet that coach Petersen would not trade him for any other QB in the country. The kid just has "it".

But the stats don't lie...Moore's numbers don't even begin to compare to Newtons. This is probably going to be the most lopsided Hesiman vote ever IMO, and it ain't gonna be Moore that is going to be hoisting it.

 

Newton has the one thing most athletic non-prototypical QBs don't. He has the arm to make all the throws. He's going to be a very good pro, much better than Moore.

I think Oregon's LaMichael James should win it!

I'll also add some of us measure a football player by their actions off the field almost as much as on too.

Read the Heisman website, where it talks about pursuing excellence with integrity. Throw out the money the lap top and exam stuff at UF are enough to prove he hasn't pursued college football with integrity.
