I would not vote for Newton, the recent allegations along with the theft stuff at Florida is enough to keep him from getting my vote. If he wins it, it might very well be stripped in 2 or 3 years just like Reggie Bush's was.

I'm all for having an issue with his off field troubles at Florida, but the recent stuff should NOT be held against him at this time. That is a major problem in this country. It is still innocent until proven guilty. Having said that, as long as teams (most SEC teams I might add) are willing to take players with checkered pasts and criminal records, I have no issue with them winning awards.

Well he was involved in a theft ring while at Florida and threw a bunch of stolen property out the window to try and avoid being caught. That alone is enough for me. And you can look back I was not thrilled with Ole Miss taking Masoli either. I'd much prefer athletes kids can look up to than people who set bad examples. And all this stuff about Cam sounds really fishy, I let my dad decide for me and he decided Auburn, Dad's church was about to be condemned by the state and at the last minute they show up with all the money they need to do a complete overhaul of the building after not being able to raise the money for 2 years.

From what the Fox article that broke it says, Newton would have been expelled after a hearing in the spring semester, (the hearing was set under university policy, not Urban Meyers), but because he left that December the hearing never happened.

Turned in a paper of someone else, just put his name on it, the professor came up to a student and asked where his paper was? Cam got caught, and what HT said is true, and like someone mentioned the Heisman folks are gonna be really careful this time, so it doesn't look good for him.

 

But, to be fair, this happened at Florida, does it have to stay with him? I don't think so, it should be what he has done this season, and shouldn't have to carry his Sin his whole life, Man I hate it when I'm fair with Auburn people. :idunno:
