In his original post, the guru asked if Ryle would be a serious threat to Trinity and St. X. In framing the question this way, the guru implies that T and X are "in the same boat" with each other. However, could it be that T is actually quite a bit better than St. X this year, especially come playoff time (when T's young players gain even more experience)? Maybe T is "in their own boat." If this is the case, then Ryle may very well pose a threat to St. X but not Trinity.

 

In all fairness to the original question posed by Ru, Ryle can only play one or the other...so the point is moot.

I'm confused as to what similarities exist between NCC & Trinity / St. X other than the fact they're both private, Catholic schools.

Way to early to talk like that. I don't see them beating X, Trinity, or Ballard. To one dimensional on offense. Trinity scedule is insane and they are young and undefeated. There offense is very complex and there still learning. Wait till playoff time, don't think anyone really poses a threat this year. X might beat them during the season because of the rivalry but I doubt it.

I'm not bored at all TP, I think it is a legit question. I think Ryle is in the hunt. I don't want to get too far ahead but the real test will be when Highlands and Ryle play their rematch.

 

One thing is for sure, Ryle is certainly on the right path.

 

On the same night Ryle beat NCC, Trinity beat Elder. Do you think Elder and NCC are even in the same stratosphere?

 

If you think NCC could stay competitive in a game with Elder then your point is legit. If not, then I think all Friday's results showed us was Highlands and Ryle are clearly the two best teams in NKY this year.

 

FWIW, Ryle's good, and they are very good by Kentucky 2010 standards. They aren't beating Trinity.

I'd love to see Ryle have a shot they're getting close but they still aren't there. Remember, this is a team that lost to Highlands still. I don't know much on X they don't seem as powerful this year, I think that may be a good game but Ryle is still probably 3 TD's behind Trinity. Trinity would never allow Elliott to beat them alone, Shaun couldn't do it, Travis won't either.

With their pretty convincing victory over NCC last night Ryle appears to be a serious threat to to St. Xavier and Trinity. If you are a public school champion it is time to hop aboard the Raider Ship and see if it can take Coach Warner back to the WKU promise land.

 

So, does Ryle have a legit shot at T and X?

 

How much of the kool aid have you consumed? Beating a pretty decent 2A NCC is a long way from theatening bluegrass royalty from the Ville. Especially given that you still can't beat the best team in NKY yet. Ryle is on the right track no doubt but this won't be their year.

Ryle will not beat Trinity....Trinity is the best team in the state. Ryle has a nice team this year but is still not up to Trinity or Highlands standards yet.

No I am not but before the season started all I heard was Rlye will beat Highlands and all that. I watched them scrimmage Dixie there passing game is horrible and there defense is not good Pike threw the ball well on them and little Burns had a 50 yard run and was never touched. I just think Ryle is not as good as people think!
