Mex, i would love to see HHS play a Turpin or Anderson type cincy team regularly, but I don't think most of the Cincy teams are up for playing HHS due to the Harbin points problem should HHS beat them. Let's face it, HHS could beat most of the Cincy teams year in and year out except for the big 4 teams. That could be one hindrance to scheduling more Cincy teams.

Bob Schneider... The last games between the 2 teams were blowouts and Schneider wouldn't play Highlands anymore because he is scared that it would happen again.

When was the last time Highlands played a Campbell County school? NC, Newport, Campbell County, Dayton, Bellevue, Bishop Brossart. (Yes, Brossart is new, I know that.)

Highlands has the best football in the state of Ky and in Ohio for the size of School they are, but that said there other sports are down, football has hurt them in baseball the most, in FT if you play football you play football year round.

It just confirms the fact that nobody really knows why they don't play. I don't know why Highlands would want to play NCC anyway, there's nothing to gain except bragging rights at the local taverns. There would be years however when the game would be interesting, but NCC just doesn't have the numbers to compete every year. Just like Highlands doesn't have the numbers to compete with X or Elder every year. Most of NCC's players play more than one sport and don't have the time to concentrate just on football.

Highlands is a football school. The new baseball coach is trying very hard to get the Birds back to regional championship competitive status, and I don't think he is too far away. Keep in mind though in 2010 Highlands didn't even make the region tourney.

You are convinced that it is Highlands ducking all the big schools. Yet I've told you that Mueller and Beatty did try in earnest to schedule a game last year and this year. I told you that I spoke directly to Dale about it. I told you that someone very close to the program saw the e mails going back and forth and Dale actually proposed at least one date that Highlands had available. You must think I'm a liar, since you continue over and over and over again to make the Highlands ducking allegation, a point I don't take kindly to. If you are not willing to call Beatty as I suggested you do, then perhaps you can PM the Guru and get his assessment of my integrity and knowledge of things Highlands and stop the childish behavior and posts.

So, it seems you are saying that NCC SHOULD NOT play Highlands because you feel that HHS is better and there's no need for NCC to be smacked down every year, BUT, Highlands SHOULD play T or X even though you think T and X are better than Highlands and HHS would get smacked down every year. I don't follow your logic on this one... why do you think NCC has no reason to play HHS, but HHS has plenty of reasons to play T or X? Why do you hold NCC and HHS to different standards?

 

It seems to me that in your scenario, NCC and HHS would be in the same boat, since NCC playing Highlands would involve a smaller squad (NCC) playing a larger one (HHS), and HHS playing T or X would also involve a smaller squad (HHS) playing a larger one (T or X). Why, then, would it be a good thing for one and not the other?

Lets also be realistic. It isn't in Highlands interest to play more than a couple of really large, physical schools a year. It is excellent to play a couple of non district teams that test you, but your goal is still a 5A state championship. Therefore, you don't want to play a non-district schedule that is so grueling that you are putting starters in the tub by playoff time. I don't blame Dale for playing a couple of tough ones a year, but playing a little less physical schedule on a few also. Why would Highlands want to have a schedule like Colrain, X, Louisville X, Trinity, and Ryle for non district? It is too much. BTW, I put Ryle on that list due to the physicality of the game.

Have never called you a name or a liar, but I also don't believe it is as difficult to schedule a game in advance between the two schools. To have played twice ever is an embarassment to Trinity and Highlands, as they are the two teams counting state championship rings and want to have bragging rights as to who is better. Settle it on the field, not on BGP.
