Whether it was meant this way or not I couldn't help but think of the People's Front of Judea here.

I have known several homosexuals over the course of my life, many of whom I am proud to call friend. Not a single one of them have ever tried to "convert" me, whatever that really means. As Christians, we are told that we are made in God's image (Book of Genesis). Having said that, I am 100% certain that homosexuals are born homosexual, and do not choose their sexuality at some later arbitrary point in their lives. Sure, there are a few exceptions to this rule, but for the most part I'm correct. So, if we are in fact made in God's image, and some are homosexual as determined at the date of conception, are these homosexuals truly doomed to Hell?? I just can't accept that as being the case. No way. Never.

 

 

Some thoughts to consider:

 

I don't question whether or not people are born with homosexual impulses or desires, but that still does not mean the act/lifestyle is in alignment with God's will. Humans are created in God's image, as you pointed out from Genesis, but this does not mean we are perfect, or that we know everything, or that we can be everywhere at all times, or that we can part the Red Sea, etc. etc. Scripture also tells us that humans are tainted from birth--stamped with a sinful nature--an inclination to do evil. Paul talked about this in Romans 7 ("the good that I want to do I don't do; the evil I don't want to do is what I find myself doing).

 

I was born with flaws that I did not ask for, yet I must battle them every day. I am very impatient and tempted to blow up when angered. But no one tells me that I should just express those angry feelings because I was born with them. Just the opposite, I need to restrain them as best I can--or rely on the new nature that the Holy Spirit has created within me.

 

Scripture asks us to resist that sin nature--not give into it and pass off our sin as "Well, I was born this way."

Jesus was sent to earth to save his people from their Sins.

 

After a Preacher told me I was going to Hell on a radio show because my Religion was a different Church than his I refuse to tell anyone where they are going. But, you have to understand the nature of God. It is not the nature God wants for a same sex couple. Now, don't get angry/upset with me. Each person will be judged on their belief in Jesus Christ, thats the deal breaker here, not their Sins. Their Sins are forgiven with the Blood of Jesus. But they have to ask for forgiveness of these and all sins.

 

In the Old Testament there are several passages that deals with Homosexualty, we are under a new law of Jesus no longer under the Law of Moses. Jesus will deal with everyone when three different times we read..Every knee will bow, every tongue wil confess Jesus is LORD.

 

It doesn't say "some". Jesus cares about this child more than you and I will ever know.

I get a bit tired of people picking certain sins which they feel strongly about and then quoting scripture to support their arguments whether it's homosexuality, alcohol consumption, coveting, mowing your yard on a Sunday, etc. Unless you are Jesus (and you aren't), don't pick and choose "sins" using your cafeteria-style Christian beliefs to point out others perceived shortcomings. Let's face it. We are all sinners. None of us are worthy enough or have the right to condemn others' sins (real or imagined). I mean, think about it. Does a fat heterosexual condemning a thin homosexual have a better chance at eternity? If I wanted to (and I definitely don't), I could find scriptures in the Bible related to the sin of gluttony. It's dinner-time. Gotta go.

The hypocrisy of it all is almost laughable. We all live in a glass house, so put down those stones.

Religion is just like politics. Everyone has an opinion and their's is the right way. I beleive if you are a Christian then you had better believe your way is the right way, there isnt a in between.

If you are a drunk, is God letting you into heaven.

IMO if you sin you can be forgiven and go to heaven, but if you continue in that sin will you go to heaven when the world ends.

I would be curious to know how many people believe that gays will go to heaven? I mean do I know for sure. NO

God IMO will not let you be born gay. God gives you the choice to make the decsion. I will never believe God would make someone gay when it is condemened in the Bible.

I will never believe people would choose to be gay given the terrible stigma and immense pressure it places on someone.

I am frustrated that I cannot create a line of reasoning that goes against this, because it makes me look like a jerk - but please know that are all kinds of people born with all kinds of genetics maps that 'cause' them to be mean and hateful to other people - which is a sin, but they can't help it.

Why did people choose to be gay 100 or 200 years ago when the social stigma was ten times what it is today? I don't buy the argument that people choose to be gay. In the 1850s or 1950s why would someone choose to be gay? Today I could almost understand because it has become an acceptable lifestyle in many circles, but not 50 or 100 years ago.
