It isn't the big stuff that bothers me from either side. Attacking health care reform, the poor economy, the handling of the war efforts, etc. don't bother me at all. I actually enjoy the debate from both sides on those issues. It is these little attacks that happen daily over trivial matters that are irritating. Just like this swimming thing. Why would anyone want to attack a good faith effort to help out a bad situation? It seemed like the people in the area were very appreciative that the President did this and yet somehow the right finds a way to attack it. It is very tiresome. I am somewhat amazed that it isn't tiresome for those on the attack. Don't you get tired of spewing the venom every day? Honestly, I think the right wing's unrelenting attacks are a contributing reason why Obama was elected. I think a lot of voters like myself who don't vote straight party lines were tired of all the bullcrap that gets spewed by the right wing dominated electronic media.

My problem with both sides is the incessant need to criticize everything each sides does, even before getting all the information. And yes, both sides are equally bad about it. It's certainly a turn off.

One more thing. IMHO I don't think Barry would be anywhere near the gulf if Michelle had not taken such a big hit over her "vacation". Let's call it what it really is, DAMAGE CONTROL.

Obama took a bad situation in the gulf area and made it worse.. Then does nothing to address it other than the photo op.. Why does he not deserve criticism??

No. I heard about this planned trip before Mrs. Obama even went to Spain. But it is interesting that people would automatically think the worst that they can of Mr. Obama and his plans. :lol:

The criticism I have no problem with... It's the constant whining from Obama supporters that nothing he does wrong is his fault..... I criticized Bush a lot but didn't try to lay the blame on every one else..

Not as much as when Bush was in office anyway. I think people are more likely to post if they're unhappy than if they're ok with how things are going. The squeaky wheel theory.

I don't think any president EVER has been this disconnected with the thoughts and ideas of the people of this country... And it's not just "some people" It's the majority of the people...

I'm not sure that I believe that the overwhelming majority of the people in this country are disconnected.

I think that the percentages are closer than polls indicate, and I think that because I believe the discontented are the most vocal. I feel the discontented at this point are far more vocal than at any point in the recent past, with the exception of the decision to go to Iraq.

I am no scholar of history, and could be completely wrong. I'm basing my thoughts on the fact that MOST of the people I come into contact with are either not at all disturbed by Obama or his policies, or disagree with particular issues, agree on others, and really don't have animosity toward Obama of an all inclusive nature.
