August 6, 201016 yr Another good problem to have with Bailey throwing a good outing. In his third rehab start, and his second with Triple-A Louisville, Homer Bailey pitched seven scoreless innings Thursday with six hits, no walks and nine strikeouts against Norfolk. Bailey threw 102 pitches, 66 for strikes.
August 6, 201016 yr BM, a little off base with that one, Gomes' last three games he's batting something like .417... But today was UGLY!
August 7, 201016 yr Considering all of the arms at Dusty's disposal in the bullpen and in Louisville, I wonder how long it will be before Cordero is bumped from the closer role. With a 3 run lead, Cordero takes the mound in the 9th and the typical drama starts. D. Lee strikes out on what would have been ball 4. Ramirez walks. Byrd strikes out on what would have been ball 4. Fukudome walks which brings the tying run to the plate. The Reds have pitchers lined up waiting to take the mound like planes trying to get out of O'Hare on a Friday afternoon. Closer by committee. Closer by Arthur. Closer by someone other than Cordero...please.
