Why would he ask Romo about him? What does that have to do with anything? Of course they were on an empty field, that's what happens when you work someone out...Same thing that would happen to every other receiver in football...

If a guy has a bad reputation and you know someone that has dealt with him in pressure situations, sometimes when things haven't gone his way, it could be a good idea to see what type of guy he really is. Maybe he's too big of a risk, maybe it's all blown out of proportion. Pretty much the same reason that every job application on the planet asks for references. Anyone can run off a great interview, doesn't mean you are good for the job.

In looking at productions and what they accomplished, I am not sure you can say Palmer is without a doubt better than McNabb, Romo, or even Jeff Garcia (before you laugh, go look at Garcia's numbers).

 

Young is the most accurate passer in NFL history and a Hall of Famer. His production speaks for itself.

Passer's standpoint: I'd rather have Romo on my team. Have you seen Palmer's accuracy over the past couple of years? Abysmal to say the least...

I agree, but the point being it is a debate you can legitimately have. Palmer had the makings but has been hampered by the injury. Owens has not played with chopped liver through his entire career which many portray.

Herman made a good point on ESPN. As talented as this team is going to be, they're obviously going to move the ball and get first downs. What does that equal? More opportunities to spread the ball around and keep everyone happy.

 

As long as this team is winning, I doubt very seriously you'll see anyone, especially TO, complaining. TO is at the point in his career and life where he simply wants a ring and wants to win.

On Bengals.com, they've said it will likely be T.O and Chad out wide with Shipley/Caldwell and Bryant splitting time in the slot.

 

Don't forget they also have a 1,000 yard rusher in the backfield.

Carson Palmer better than Steve Young...are you drunk? I really hope that was a joke. For my money McNabb, Garcia and Romo are all better than Carson Palmer as well. Of couse I think Palmer is the most overrated (by fans) player I have ever seen in the NFL. He's not even Matt Schaub let alone Steve Young.

 

As for not liking the make-up, the Bengals are talented but with this many questionable guys they are one meltdown away from being a disaster. Some teams can handle troubled players, the Bengals really don't do a good job of it. I'm glad all of these guys are in Cincy, it should make for an exciting season as a person with no set NFL team.

You are telling me that one year of no press conferences, no walk outs, no on field arguments, and no real production either, makes up for what he pulled with the 49'ers O coordinator? Or having to be deactivated by the Eagles? I'm sure McNabb would love to play with a guy that called him either a quitter or out of shape in the Super Bowl. Owens threw Romo and Garrett under the bus. But wait, he had a good year in Buffalo.

Look, this may turn out to be a good move and he MAY be able to keep his cancer to himself. But don't act like he has proven to be a great teammate because it's simply not true. To the bolded, I'll ask you, are you drunk? Palmer was easily one of the games top 4-5 QBs and on the rise before his knee injury. Not sure how he was overrated....Matt Schaub is a solid guy, but he's also got the luxury of playing with the best WR on the planet as well.
