July 28, 201016 yr There were still 4 innings of baseball left. The lefty starter went 5 plus innings giving up 6 hits, and 3 runs. I watched the game. The guy they brought in to relieve him gave up a bunch of hits. It was 2-1 when he left the game.

He was responsible for those guys being on base. He gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. That comes out to a 5.40 ERA, and that is pretty close to his ERA for the year.
July 29, 201016 yr Author Thanks, I know how the era thing works. Well one certainly has to wonder when you think things are "looking very bleak" when the Reds are trailing only 2-0 in the 6th.

I like the idea of sending Nix down. Keeps the lefty/right ratio on the bench the same as it has been and Nix has been used so sparingly that I would rather see Heisey stay with the club.

July 29, 201016 yr I wouldn't think Nix would have options. Yeah I just thought about that. Maybe release him then? Either way, there is no chance Drew Stubbs is sent down to AAA like some on here have suggested.
July 29, 201016 yr Nice road trip, I'll take 4-2 on any 6 game trip. Good to see Wood get a win. Now let's fill the ballpark to see the Reds beat up on Atlanta this weekend. I don't think there will be a problem with that. Cousin's husband who works in group sales for the Reds said that they were close to selling out Saturday and Sunday. That was last night, but I don't know what close means.
