July 10, 201016 yr This is a bad loss, the kind that starts losing streaks. Thank God for the All-Star break.
July 10, 201016 yr Author and Arroyo was at around 100 and also dominated the Mets. Arroyo didn't have a 6 run lead.
July 10, 201016 yr I keep telling myself this team always picks it self up after nights like this, but that one is rough...

July 10, 201016 yr Author We must cling to the memory of the run they went on after the debacle in ATL. They didn't face Halladay and Hamels after the debacle in Atlanta. I expect the Reds to be on a four game losing streak, and tied with the Cards at the break, and staring down the Rockies and Jiminez as they come out of the break.
July 10, 201016 yr Is there a fair argument here for why Leake was left in the game after being on base 4 times and around 100 pitches and Arroyo was taken out the other night around the same pitch count? Just asking to see what everyone else thinks. I thought they were looking to limit Leake's innings. Halfway through and he has now thrown 109 innings. I'm willing to bet you'd have something to say if he was pulled in that situation in favor of someone like Owings.

July 10, 201016 yr I get so sick and tired of seeing Choke O coming into a game. He NEVER challenges a hitter. He throws everything outside, outside, outside. That's twice now the Reds have blown a 6 run 9th inning lead, and Choke O right in the middle of both of them. The Cardinals are up 5-0 on the Stros, and the Reds face Halladay and Hamels the next two days. The Reds may head to the break on a terrible note. Reds will go nowhere with Cordero as a closer. It's a dang adventure every time he goes out to the mound. They've been living on borrowed time with this guy.
July 10, 201016 yr Author Calm down math... I feel like Math tonight. The worse loss of the year IMO. I'm just sicked and tired of Choke O. I NEVER feel comfortable when he comes into the game, and I know I have one more year of watching it.
July 10, 201016 yr Dusty just said something like "trying to stay away from Bray and Arthur because with all of those left handers in their lineup they can wreak havoc on them." What is he talking about?
July 10, 201016 yr Author Dusty just said something like "trying to stay away from Bray and Arthur because with all of those left handers in their lineup they can wreak havoc on them." What is he talking about? I think he's probably talking about having to use them for the next couple of days, and not wanting to use them tonight. Why not Owings? I didn't understand why Dusty had Choke O up in the pen when the Reds were up 7-2, and the Phillies had one out, and only 1 man on. Who else has their closer up in that situation?
July 10, 201016 yr I think he's probably talking about having to use them for the next couple of days, and not wanting to use them tonight.? Maybe so. So I'm the only one that pulls Leake after the first batter reaches?
July 10, 201016 yr Author I wouldn't have pulled him after the 1st guy, but I definitely would have pulled him after Werth got his hit.
July 10, 201016 yr I'm willing to bet you'd have something to say if he was pulled in that situation in favor of someone like Owings. Not at all. A rookie pitcher all of 5'10" 175 lbs who has run the bases 4 times in a game where he is approaching 90 pitches. I think the Phillies who have seen his best stuff three times through the lineup are ripe to get some good swings on him and it happens in a hurry. That's what a bullpen is for. Dusty said before the game that Masset, Cordero and Owings were available and CoCo somewhat available. He also said Rhodes was available.
