July 9, 201016 yr If you are a major league baseball player, then you should be able to lay down a sac bunt. All it takes is practice and they have plenty of time for that. I'm not saying they should have bunted Bruce, but him not being able to should not be a reason
July 9, 201016 yr Have you heard of the concept of self-fulling prophesy? Have you heard the concept of reality???
July 9, 201016 yr My point is the "what if" you throw out is a given. Why even bring it up? We all know the pros and cons. Why even ask if he's going to sac? We all know the answer...
July 9, 201016 yr Still one bunt in his pro career, right? You'd love that number if he didn't get it down... I'm not necessarily saying I would bunt him there because, as you said, he doesn't do it well. What I am saying is that I would require him to practice it again and again until he would more than likely get it down in a game situation.
July 9, 201016 yr Does anyone know if Masset has any options? I would assume not, but if he does it's time to pull the trigger with Burton pitching so well in Louisville.

There are some things that certain guys just don't do well. For Bruce it would seem that is getting down a bunt. If you think it hasn't been worked on with him, I'm not sure what to tell you. I'll go with there is a reason he has never been asked to do it in his pro career. He's not good at it...
July 9, 201016 yr GT...you never should have came back in here lol. I hate losing, but we still have a three game lead thanks to the Rockies and a pretty good record on this roadtrip so far. Be nice to win tomorrow, Saturday is against Halliday I think.
July 9, 201016 yr I'm out... Haha, not cause they lost. Just cause of some of the arguements you have to have in here lol.
July 9, 201016 yr 0 outs, men on 1st & 2nd. If I was the manager, I would make the batter bunt; however, Jay Bruce is not a good bunter & I think you're better off letting him swing. If you are going to bunt there, you should pinch hit for Bruce. He simply is not a good bunter. He's never been asked to bunt. Right or wrong, he can't do it. So, letting Bruce swing away was the right call there, IMO.
July 9, 201016 yr Bruce needs to get his act together real quick because thats a huge hole in our lineup right now.
