July 10, 201016 yr Maybe so. So I'm the only one that pulls Leake after the first batter reaches? I would have had someone ready and at the first sign which turned out to be the leadoff double by Victorino pulled him and turned it over to the bullpen to close it out.
July 10, 201016 yr Author Not at all. A rookie pitcher all of 5'10" 175 lbs who has run the bases 4 times in a game where he is approaching 90 pitches. I think the Phillies who have seen his best stuff three times through the lineup are ripe to get some good swings on him and it happens in a hurry. That's what a bullpen is for. Dusty said before the game that Masset, Cordero and Owings were available and CoCo somewhat available. He also said Rhodes was available. How about making a suggestion before hand next time instead of always 2nd guessing.

July 10, 201016 yr Wow I turned it off because I was forced to watch Lilo and Stitch and get on BGP to see that this happens. Unreal.
July 10, 201016 yr Author Finally some good news tonight. Anybody want to try and set up the Reds rotation after the break? Edinson Volquez threw seven innings of one-hit, shutout ball in his rehab start for Louisville tonight. He didn’t allow the hit until the sixth inning. He walked three and struck out nine. He threw 102 pitches, 62 strikes. He’s in line to go 3-0 for the Bats. His ERA at Louisville is 1.96. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/
July 10, 201016 yr Author I'll go with this right after the break. Arroyo Cueto Wood Volquez Leake I'm not sure when Harang or Bailey will come of the DL, but that is my guess.
July 10, 201016 yr ^ They just need to go to a 6 man rotation. Not a chance I am even going to think about figuring that one out.
July 10, 201016 yr How about making a suggestion before hand next time instead of always 2nd guessing. Were you here in my den watching the game with me? Then how do you know what I suggest?
July 10, 201016 yr Author Were you here in my den watching the game with me? Then how do you know what I suggest? Well you sure don't have a problem letting us know your thoughts afterward the fact on BGP, how about letting us know just how smart you are by letting us know before hand on BGP.
July 10, 201016 yr Pretty easy to say that after the game is blown. I know high school coaches that wouldn't have let Leake go back out there after that workout. He had to be totally gassed physically and mentally. If Dusty doesn't let Arroyo go out there when he is dominating and asks to go back out why on Earth let Leake go out to have it all blow up in his face. Remember they are limiting his innings. Isn't this a great place to do that?

He's a major league athlete, I doubt being on base 'gassed' him Tonight wasn't a good night to save innings. The bullpen has just be through an extra inning game the night before. It was the right call to leave him in. Probably could have pulled him a little quicker though.

I try to watch the game and not sit on here pitch to pitch like a lot of you guys seem to do. I also try to stay away from constantly critiquing Dusty's every mov. But I sure will note the ones that seem to make a difference after the game.

Anybody can do that, and you're going to look like nothing more than that everytime until you post your thoughts before hand.
July 10, 201016 yr Still 2 games up in the Central, it happens over the course of 162 games. Need to bounce back tomorrow and get the W which is going to be very difficult.
