I stopped at a red light on 3L by the White Castle plant and lightning struck a telephone pole about 25 feet from me and blew the transformer into pieces out on the street. Pretty impressive between the light, the sound, and the immediate changes in temperature and pressure. I've been relatively close to a few lightning strikes in my life, but that one took the cake.

On 9 WCPO they just showed pictures that they showed about an hour ago. Now showing rain totals from the last hour. I can't believe they have now been on for over an hour straight with this crap!

They said at 8:45 that "in about 4 minutes" they would switch to the game, and that they would be in their .1 or .2 station, as well as their weather station on cable. ALSO, I liked the cable weather station MUCH more when they just had the NWS loop instead of this ch.9 garbage! Only thing worse than them being on with spring/summer weather events, is during a MILD snow fall. Thank goodness for cable/satellite TV.

The storm that rolled through when I posted was no run of the mill summer thunder clap. And tell you old and retired Florida buddies to get off the golf course once in a while...

We're having a old fashion gully washer boom banger as I type this. If it doesn't let up soon, I'll have to swim home. Then here come the whaling ships and the whale hunters... it's not pretty.
