I would agree with you there and he doesn't appear to be much of an all out, all over the court defender so maybe the idea of that is not so appealing. At HC he could be the man who hangs out behind the 3 pt line opposite Berger and lights it up. Boy HC seems to be formulating a team like the good ole days when they used to get all the Independence kids.

I might be missing out here....but I heard that a Holmes player was transferring to HC also. McLendon? Am I just late on this?

 

Also Cam Murphy is going to be a heck of a player. His dad just took the girls job so I imagine he's leaving CCH to go to HC.

McClendon is in fact enrolled at HC and is participating in team workouts. As for above comments about why--maybe there are more elements to a young highschooler transferring SCHOOLS then just what style the basketball teams play...

Don't remind me, SK could have possible been the only two time 9th region state champ if Harney and Williams didn't transfer.

They will need more than this Justin and McClendon to contend in that District IMO. Berger is a nice returing player but I dont think anyone else has proven themselves at the Varsity level and even the two aforementioned players havent played any varsity.

 

They may need more next year, but McClendon and Beal in the backcourt together over the next 3 years is going to be dynamite.

He did play varsity minutes last year.

 

If McClendon played varsity minutes last year, he will have to sit out next year at Holy Cross unless he can qualify under an exception and get a favorable ruling from the KHSAA. A player who played varsity minutes and transfers is automatically ineligible. He/she must apply to the KHSAA and ask to be ruled eligible and there are only a very specific exceptions that will enable the player to be ruled eligible.

Since when is Beal considered a guard? Not sure he has the handle or the outside shot to be in the backcourt. I see him as a solid 3/4.

I thought Beal was heading to Beechwood. Sounds like there might be some persuasion for certain kids to head to Latonia. I have heard that in the past with some of the Tar Heels players where certain parents were trying to convince other parents to send their kids to HC. Very interesting.
