May 9, 201214 yr I watched "The Conspirator" a week or so ago on Netflix and I thought it was a very good movie considering I'd never heard of it before.
May 9, 201214 yr I've really been wanting to see that. Pretty scary? More creepy than scary. Poe was a messed up dude.
May 9, 201214 yr Author More creepy than scary. Poe was a messed up dude. I've heard all about his troubled life and how weird and crazy and tragic his life was, but I honestly have very little knowledge about the guy beyond his macabre and creepy writing. Maybe I should look up a biography on him. (And in all likelihood, see this movie.)
May 10, 201214 yr More creepy than scary. Poe was a messed up dude. Thanks! :thumb: I'm looking forward to seeing this. June 22, 201214 yr Author I watched "The Conspirator" a week or so ago on Netflix and I thought it was a very good movie considering I'd never heard of it before. This should be arriving at my house from Netflix either today or tomorrow. I'm pretty interested to see how it is...
June 22, 201214 yr I saw that and I have to say, I had really high expectations for this movie. It wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be. That's how I felt about the film as well. Was really ordinary.
June 22, 201214 yr Watched "The Way" with Martin Sheen (directed by Emilio Estevez) a few weeks ago on Netflix. I rated it a 5 out of 5 stars. Incredible movie.

June 22, 201214 yr I've lost interest in seeing movies as there seem to be so few quality movies anymore. However, if you tell me there's a documentary I'm already half-way there before I even know what it is. My son and I saw Ice-T's new documentary "Something from Nothing: Art of Rap" and it was really good. I think those who say they can't stand rap should check it out just to learn about it and maybe appreciate the art form a bit more.
June 22, 201214 yr I finally watched Captain America and Thor in between finals games so I am Avenger certified now. Of course by the time I can make time to go to the movies to see The Avengers it will be gone but at least I am certified now. I loved Captain America and Thor was better than I thought. I like what they have done with each Avenger and their individual movies as well as bringing them together. I am geeked to see Avengers. Whenever that happens.
June 22, 201214 yr Another great movie I watched recently is The Legend of 1900. I have discovered SO MANY great independent movies and documentaries on Netflix over the years. The following is a synopsis of the movie from the website: "Raised aboard an ocean liner after being abandoned there as an infant, 1900 (Tim Roth) becomes a virtuoso piano player who learns about the outside world only through interactions with passengers, never setting foot on land, even for the love of his life. Years later, the ship may be destroyed, and a former band member fears that 1900 may still be aboard, willing to go down with the ship in this compelling drama from director Giuseppe Tornatore."

Ahh, Tim Roth...he either picks THE BEST scripts, or THE WORST scripts. I'll have to check this one out and see what I think. Thanks, TTC!
June 22, 201214 yr There are a few I haven't seen that I want to see. Without question, The Dark Knight Rises is at the top of the list. But also wanting to see that finding a friend/end of the world movie with Steve Carell. Was headed to see The Raven, only to find out it was already gone. Agree with Clizzy (God help me that I'm agreeing with him again ) that the quality of movies do not seem to be very strong as of late.

By "of late," do you really mean, "in the last couple decades?"
