What good movies have you seen lately?

Ides of March

I saw that and I have to say, I had really high expectations for this movie. It wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be.

"The Mark Of Cain"....man was that interesting. I saw "Eastern Promises" a while back, and the documentary was referenced in the special features. I'd watched part of it, but I finally sat down and caught the whole thing.

It talks about the prison culture that has developed in Russia, and the system of criminal tattoos that have developed amongst Russian prisoners. The tattoos identify what the convict has been convicted of, how many prisons he's been in and what kind of criminal he is.

Here's a segment:

You can actually watch the entire thing on YouTube. Just type "russian prison system documentary" into the search field and it will be the first thing that comes up.

Both Eastern Promises and The Mark of Cain sound intriguing.

Watching a program called "Russia's Toughest Prisons". It features Prison Camp 17 in Siberia, Vladimir Central Prison, and "Black Dolphin" prison. Very interesting program.

I watched the Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix last night, very good Netflix flick.

Watched "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" last night for the first time in probably 10+ years. Still makes me laugh as much as it did when I saw it the first time when I was 9 or 10. For the male sex, it may also be one of the most quotable movies ever made.

The Town...excellent film.
That might be in my top 10 of all time.
Spent some time over at the parents' over the holiday weekend. I watched the original Pink Panther and The Return Of The Pink Panther with my dad. Those movies never cease to crack me up.

You fool! I could have killed you with a karate chop!

Help! I'm being repressed!

(did you see him repressing me?!)

Watched "School Ties" yesterday with Brendan Fraser and Matt Damon. REALLY good movie I'd never heard of...and I thought I'd seen everything Matt Damon had done.

The Raven.

I've really been wanting to see that. Pretty scary?

Looked pretty good to me, too. Maybe I'll have to catch that in the theaters if I get a chance.
