May 18, 201016 yr Primary Election Day in Kentucky today. Low turnout expected, especially in counties with very few contested races. Nevertheless, please vote!
May 18, 201016 yr Ditto mcpapa's request. If you don't vote, you shouldn't complain. In Campbell County, if you are an R, I'd recommend and ask that you vote for Steve Pendery for Judge Executive; Jerry Schmits and Mike Combs for County Commissioners; Tim Fischer for Circuit Court Clerk; Gayle Hoffman for Family Court Judge; and Trey Grayson for U.S. Senator. I know each of the people personally and can vouch for each one of them. They are exactly the kind of people we need to hold elective office if we want to improve our County and our Country. Thanks for considering my recommendations. LN
May 18, 201016 yr I just voted about 30 minutes ago. Low turn out early in my area. I live in an area that votes early.
May 18, 201016 yr I agree if you don't vote, then you shouldn't complain! I am on my way in a couple of minutes!
May 18, 201016 yr My wife and I walked to the polls pulled all of the "liberal" levers and walked home. Hugging all of the trees and puppies along the way.
May 18, 201016 yr My wife and I walked to the polls pulled all of the "liberal" levers and walked home. Hugging all of the trees and puppies along the way. Oh wait, we live in Kentucky, there are no "liberal" levers. Also, shockingly I used a paper ballot today.
May 18, 201016 yr I second the request for a vote for Trey Grayson. Also, for those of you in Northern Kentucky, I would request support of Jeff Smith for District Court Judge. We have some fun races here in Bardstown.

May 18, 201016 yr Unfortunately indie's aren't able to vote in KY primaries. But it looks like Rand Paul is set to become the GOP nominee for US Senate...something I fully support. Plus I have a lot of interest in primaries going on in my home county where the primary is the de facto general election.
May 18, 201016 yr I personally have never understood the point of encouraging people to vote. Those with an interest who are likely to study candidates and make an informed decision will do so, those that don't won't. Reminding them to vote in my mind is encouraging the willingly uninformed to make a willingly uninformed decision.

What if I make an informed decision not to vote because I don't like any of the candidates running?

May 18, 201016 yr I also never agreed with the "if you don't vote you can't complain" argument. What if I make an informed decision not to vote because I don't like any of the candidates running? Random question. If you go in to vote, but select no candidates at all, I assume your vote is still registered is it not? I do not vote in any race I do not feel I know any of the candidates' positions. For example, our local Constable race, I had never heard of either of the guys so I did not vote. Maybe it is my own fault for not trying to research the candidates but they made 0 effort in promoting themselves.
